Here is the post, and yes it is the same city as the original poster is referring to.

It would make sense not earning xp from your own vote. Lets see how much xp the big cities earn in a few hours from now.

See, now THAT makes sense. If the cap was 2500 he would have got 2100. Thank you.

You can't have a citizen not vote. THey either vote for an opponent, or you get the XP from them, regardless of whether they vote. But I bet you are right that you don't get XP from your self, so that makes sense. I'm glad there's no cap. Hopefully I'll have 25 by Sunday when our vote is! 22 and counting ...

I am pretty sure that GreenMarine gave us good information, that being the cap is 20x.

You had 26 citizens, got 2500 exp. Another city had 21 citizens and got 2000 exp. Looks like it just knocks off 100 for whatever reason.

To the person who said you cant have a citizen not vote. I was thinking perhaps that this first week and the first week anyone gets into the city that their vote must be placed. But either way..if people are not getting 100xp for their own vote its not very democratic.

Chances are that since the Mayor counts as a citizen, you don't receive any experience for voting for yourself. That's where the 100xp difference is coming from. I'll be able to confirm this in about 90 minutes.

I can let you guys know in around 90-120 mins as well. We currently have 60 citizens, hopefully we will get 5900 exp

I didn't say your vote doesn't count. You just don't get XP for it. Just like medics don't get XP for healing themselves... They still get healed though

**edit** ... if this is true ...

We have exactly 40 votes ... that would have been just enough to get the 4 first boxes as we planed ... a head up would have been realy something, in my opinion ... yet another proof of the real good communication we have here, devs, thanks
