Good example Unity. I was about to trash your post, when you said that. I live in Canada which has a larger land mass then the US but only the population of California. By LordMaxx's argument, Canada should be taken over by the US because we can't fill our land. Don't think the rest of the world would support it.

Would we have to learn french if we did? Im no good at languages j/k but what if God came down and said ok only 2 countries per continent... Oh and to make the analogy more pertinent Canada and US would have to be at war already. And we offered a free first class trip to Africa where god is allowing more Countries to all the canadians...no wait this is getting to crazy... eh? took? strange brew is one of the greatest movies of all time

hmm, become part of the US or move to Africa. This is a tough one .

The funny thing is, I have only seen 10 min of strange brew. It was funny, but I don't think that is how we speak. As for the french part,

i decided to quit this thread with a short extract from a small poem Lord Byron wrote in the latter stages of his literature life ;

Behold Sire,

Behold Sire,

You are but a Twenty,

Alas for we are Eighty,

We will rape your City.....

Unfortunately for you NO ONE in the town wanted to be liberated...except from you. Poor choice. And Jaspor has stated that Liz has the logs, shall I ask her to send them to you?

Dayln,

I disagree.. the zoneing rights are there for a very good reason... to allow a group to build an organized, structured city.. without allowing the small number of idiots that play to just drop structures across streets etc.

Without zoning rights the only other reasonable alternative would be to allow players to attack un-authorized buildings... and i can just see the terrible mess that would cause.

The zoneing rights as implimented are fine in so much as citizens of the city can remove the mayor if he missbehaves, and put someone in place that will run things the way they like. I'm all in favor of that.

The problem is that the zoneing right extend exactly to teh edge of the citizen range and no further, thus allowing growth campers... who could all place their houses 10 mins befor expansion, with no way for the mayor or existing citizens to stop the expansion taking place.

There are two solutions....

a) Make the zoneing restrictions effect 1 size larger area that the towns curent size. Thus the existing residents will always have 1 week to respond to a growth seige.

b) Make the growth of the town an option that is qualified for in the existing way, but which when enabled is only activated by the mayor selecting the option from the town terminal. This prevents last minute sieges.

For those Mayors that want the wild west feel of no controls... like yourself... there is already the option to turn off zoneing. In fact that is the default condition.

The problem here is not that the citizens are being denied thier right to vote (although that certainly is an exploit)... but that people are able to become citizens without any consent being required fro those that are already there. If the siegers dont become citizens, then they have no rights.

Then they can leave, they have their own compound. Your reasoning is DEEPLY flawed. Seeking to liberate yourself from a town that doesn't want you to begin with is fairly simple. Go away. That's the point.

LOL you can still be playing that stupid can you? come on kiddo, the game is over. It was an exploit, obviously, everyone but you knew it. Even the guy that used it.

Look, this is becoming tiresome. All I have ever said is to not take anything for granted. Don't assume. What seems painfully obvious to you may not be obvious to others because everyone has a different point of view.

It used to be obvious that the world was flat, but we got over that little hump and discovered that it was, in fact, round. Of course, I still believe the world is flat, and rides on the back of four giant elephants which are standing on the back of a monstrous turtle that is swimming through space. I mean, that's pretty obvious, isn't it?

Real, concrete proof is required before anything becomes truly clear, and if you had any kind of scientific mind, you would understand that.

The difference between you and I Posi, is that you think that the buildiers of a town have a right to control who lives there, I dont. While I agree with zoning rights for the layout of a city, ( reserved space for gardens or whatever ) I do not think they should have the right to tell people if they can live in the town or not.

It is not our towns, it belongs to whoever wants to live there. Othewise cities are only extentions of PA's.

If I were running things ( which I am not ) Zoning rights owuld only allow a mayor to reserve a certain limited number of lots fror project keeping anyone from building anything there....... and that is it. A mayor should not be able to control if someone moves into town or not.

Yep, we have our own compound, no city hall though...and if we did get one after the next fix we will not be able to grow to level 2..We would like more than just small gardens and we have the citizens and infrastructure and abilities to grow to the higher levels. We now have to figure out how to do that.....

I would like to jump in, although it's probably a bad idea, and say a bit from the point of view of an ordinary citizen of Constellation who has been sitting on the sidelines. My name is Ofock Aberoci, and I'm Ockla's wife. We initially joined GotZ because they seemed like very nice people, they were neighbors and they invited us, despite the fact that they're an imperial-leaning guild and we're both rebels. In the months I've been in the guild I've enjoyed associating with them, despite our differences of opinions when it comes to politics. Many were excited about the idea of a player city, and they spent weeks planning it. I was excited because the plan was to have a neutral city that would benefit us crafters and take advantage of the traffic to and from the Emperor's Retreat, which I believe is a good plan.

However, since the siege began I've been afraid to go to my new home because I prefer to avoid being harassed and challenged to duels. The few times I've been there have been unpleasant, so I've avoided it. I feel like a member of a small town that's been invaded by the Hell's Angels. They've insulted and killed my friends and my husband, and I don't want any part of it. I also find it hard to understand the viciousness I've seen on the part of the siegers. I understand their frustration at not getting their own city and can sympathize with them. What I cannot understand is their stated desire to destroy our city in retaliation. Maybe I just don't have it in me.

I joined the Rebellion because I truly believed they were the good guys. These siegers have proven me wrong. Their tactics, which include harassment, intimidation and manipulation, are all what I would consider to be Imperial tactics. I find it sad that the Imperials in our guild have been friendly and welcoming, even refusing offers of help that are contingent upon their booting out the rebel members of the guild. They have been kind enough not to even ask us to switch sides because we are valued as guild members. However, the Rebels I've encountered have been vicious and crude and frankly bullies who put stormtroopers to shame.

This has made me ashamed to be a rebel. It's also made me reconsider some of my previously held views of the Rebellion. Maybe the Imperials weren't lying or exaggerating. Maybe they were telling the truth. Because of all of this I have decided to resign my commission in the rebel army. I don't know if I feel strongly enough to join the Empire, but I'm ashamed to be associated with rebels like these.

Both sides are not doing the right thing here.

!. You should NEVER Lock the Voting booths on ppl...that /command should be removed from city hall.

    2. The pathetic attempt to try and make people believe that this is a faction war as apposed to you acting like 11 year old cause you didnt get a city and deciding to take someone elses is disgusting. I have read every post here and have seen your politician admit that from the start all you wanted was the city. You should be ashamed of yourself. Your as bad as the people running around saying "I want to be a jedi." And cnat do it so they kill anybody that might be Force Sensitive with the mentality of "If I cant have it, neither can they." GROW UP. A True free city WAS in place with OPEN voting and the citzens WHERE happy. YOU want to become the dictator of this town. HOW IS THIS BETTER? You want to argue that well the majority rules it..Ya, by taking over a city of free ppl and placing your guild in command. If there where jedi around and a council on coronote to hear their complaints YOU WOULD BE WIPED OUT. GO build your own city and run how you want STOP TRYING TO SEIGE ANOTHER and TAKE so you can DICTATE YOUR RULES.

Well thought out post, Ofock, and very accurate.

Using the GCW as a pretense of trying to take over the town is a poor tactic indeed. The funny thing is they flip-flop every minute between it being a GCW conflict or just a competitive cities conflict.

The Rebellion is nothing but a bunch of unorganized terrorists, and they should be treated as such.

I am glad you have seen that the Rebellion does more harm than good, and perhaps the Emperor's teachings will some day speak to you in a way that leads you to a greater gain.
