I too ask that this thread be closed and/or the name be changed, and it was me that started it.

Jaspor I am impressed with your admission. Thank you for that. Let me tell you it was never our intention to steal your city at the start. I can only speak for GoA; not the other two PAs. But without us, no one would have had the strength to challenge you anyway. We still dont ideally want to have a city on the site you have chosen. We want our own city on the site that we chose.

Anyway, this city is still yours, and if you can legitimately hold it through strength of numbers then good for you. That is as it should be with every city. My PA properties will have their names changed back to a more civil and normal name policy. I assure you that the otehr PAs will also change the names of their properties too. We will revert to the situation as it was before this all happened.

We would also like to offer you a free city hall deed if you decide to move to a more fruitful and less contentious area. If you want to stay and fight, great! this is just an option

You chose to take over a city you "don't ideally want" because why, exactly?

Let me get this straight. This whole rigmarole was all over some city you ideally really didn't want? It was because they made the cap and you couldn't? They chose a site you don't even like and you are going to go in and take over and either keep it tear it down? You want a city now and you want it on your spot and would do anything to make this happen?

You chose to harrass them in game, slander them in an eight page thread here, and all around being rude to them because... Because what exactly? I'm really confused here.

The only reasons I can think of is you are impatient, a bully, and wanted to illustrate some stupid point, just because could. You're slamming him for exploiting something they did just because they could.

Take a look in the mirror. You're far worse. You not only stooped to their level you plummeted far below it.

Surefoot Their city is essentially right next to where our city had been planned for months...there city hall and subsequent homes popped up the day of the city patch.

My kingdom for an edit button...Surefoot you have NO idea the whole story. So please just stay out of it...we are legitimate in our course (in our eyes). So the war is on.

Look, I sympathize with both sides of the issue, but until the cost for Civic structures is ZERO, and the city cap is completely thrown out, then this will be an issue.

As long as people have to put tens of thousands of units of PERSONAL resources into the construction of Civic (non-redeedable) structures, there will be the SAME sense of "ownership" you get when spending 85K on a Medium house. I bought it/Made it with my own personal credits/resources, so its MINE. Add to that the time that serious players have put into the design and growth-planning for their cities, and you have a HUGE investment of time and finances. This is supposed to be FUN. How FUN is it when the hundreds of hours you've (and probably several members of the city) devoted to:

finding a site, surveying the full radius, researching the construction plans, keeping up with current news on these Boards, asking questions, debating with your city/Guild mates about city implementation, finding and mining the required resources, organizing the patch day Plan, executing the Plan, getting your city up, guiding the citizens in placement of structures, advertising to potential customers about your future business in your new city, debating placement of the various vendors for your Mall, setting up a plan for outside Merchants/Crafters to utilize the city Specialization/foot traffic (sales), mining even more resources for the different Civic structures, refining the Mayors Skill progression to appease all the various people it affects, researching more on the Boards to keep up with additions/bugs/fixes........

.....is destroyed by a group of people who blather on that the "cities aren't supposed to be private so just get over it while I destroy all your work cause I want a city in the swamp."

I'm sorry, but I cant see how that is fair, or FUN for me or the other dedicated members of the city.

So, I suggest they make the Deeds free for a Politician to aquire. All the Civic structures. Not the Cantina, medical, and theatre, those are player owned. Then remove the cap completely. Then remove Zoning Rights, because it will not be needed anymore. Why would someone grief a city when they can just make their own? If I'm in a spot they just desperetaly want, and I could care less, then I'll move. Or I'll stay and fight it out Politically.

I dont support the use of any exploits

this is a crappy situation for both parties but one that is within the confines of the players laying siege.

would is suck and I be pissed if our city was being sieged? yes

would it suck if i was sieging a city and some used an exploit to prevent it? yes

The smart mayor would work towards a resolve of both parties ( in this case difficult since warring factions)

The smart mayor would equip his city with enough citizens to make the sieging forces need to be larger than theirs

the smart mayor would imply a large imcome tax to the citizens and then redistribute any taxes gains from his/hger constituants and the remaining cred conficated from the siging players into the town hall. It would not matter if some players paid and some did not, some would inevitably feel the pinch and either move out or give up their idea of siege.

While its true it would be difficult to siege a metropolis with more than 85 citizens all in league, but it would dbly be foolish to not maximize the growth exp of the city you are wanting to siege and then through more of a political than a forceful method win over the citizens to the siging parties side , again difficult with warring factions to accomplish.

While i hope this does not happen to our city, I do salute the roleplaying aspect of the original posters overtaking and as he stated very nicely many points to the roleplaying aspect of his takeover.

Our city has implenented some policy , but there is no guarentee that it will or will not withstand any type of hostile or non hostile takeover. It is a chance we take. As mayor I find myself inundated with requests to join the city and doing my political duties of kissing baies and shaking hands.. but thats what i like about it. I also enjoy the air of competitiveness that could crop up.

again while not fitting to this situation since they are warring factions... do what the citizens ask and follow the path they want.. after all you are just a pawn of the people.. and yu will remain a long lived and happy politician in your tenur as mayor of the city you govern.

I know some of this probably does not pertain to the topic , but thank you all for indulging me.

so.. here is a question.. what IF! I use naboo houses and surround the city hall (essentially blocking ANYone from entering) via houses (they are interlock if doing it right) thus locking everyone out of the city hall..

is this griefing?

is it sieging?

is it exploit?

hard to say.. I'm using the mechanic of the game (naboo house interlock)

I thought the imperial empire promotes dictoratorship

I think we are all pretty much aware of this Chatterer. What the questions being proposed are,

1. Is it an exploit to ban people whose intention is to destroy your city hall by voting out the current mayor?

2. Is it exploiting to place lots of buildings around a city with the purpose of becoming part of a city just to destroy the city hall or grief the founders of the city?

on the contrary, we understand that. and we also understand some boobs wanted to SIEGE and TAKE OVER other people's labour AGAINST their will and left them with 2 choices ; either sit as you are and do not benefit from player city perks, or get TAKEN OVER by us, even if this is AGAINST your will. the sieged chose to defend. which is just right.
