Thread: A SOLUTION TO THESE CAPS....
Let people place city halls for exactly 24 hours after the patch. Those people thathave dedicated time into getting resources readywill place their cities down. Thosepeople with knee jerk reactions who want to flood thelandscape with cities will not have time to do this. Then after the 24 hours assess how many player cities are down and on server up say how many more cities can be placed on eachplanet given the stats you have.
THIS is fair andthose people that have been waiting months... nay Years for this will not miss out as they will be ready. The possible griefers and land fillers will be leftout in the cold with not enough time to make up city halls.
This is a MUCH better solution IMHO.
Regards
Just to add more weight to this. The factory time it takes to make a city hall is in excess of 24 hour and therefore the only people who will get city down is those who have planned and prepared. Im telling you now that in nearly all cases the number of cities in this 24 hour period will be lower than what the server can handle. You can then decide how many more should be allowed on each planet and once the quota is full then stop the city hall placements.
/agree
There needs to be some system other than first come first serve as only the kiddies will get their cities built.
I completely agree. We planned as well as we could ahead of time based on the info the devs gave us. Our settlement is on Naboo, but it's far enough from the nearest other groups of houses that we shouldn't have had a problem. Dropping this bomb on us at the last minute is unacceptable. Knowing that months of work will be pointless because we may not win some stupid drop-your-town-hall race is going to be a game-breaking experience for my PA.
My friends and I had a great small town planned out. I freed up skill points for politician, our Architect worked his little Trando booty off getting everything ready, we even figured out how to pay for it all. We deserve to have our dream town just as much as whoever gets lucky in the log-in rush.
Im going to disagree, purely because i see why they have designed it this way....
Ive been getting ready for this ever since ive heard about it, i have 100 power core units in crates, and 100 structure modules in crates, and around 300 walls (well 2 small generics full of just those components anyway) All ready to cover all the city structures so that i wont have to go over making more later once the city is underway. I severely hopei can get online after the patch fast enough to place my city hall, which will be roughly 1hr tops after the server comes up, i had already planed to race for this simply because i cant wait any longer
but my city is on dantooine anyway, and im not sure a 25 city cap will be reached even after a few days here, but who knows.
My advice is to get a backup waypoint on a 25 limit planet, if your unable to place a city hall on one of the three starting planets you intended, then chances are you can there. This is their intention, to spread people out more away from those 3 already overcrowded planets (not reall overcrowded, but compared to the other planets, you get my idea)
Im not even the leader of my 'small' PA, yet most of them including the leader are all following my to dantooine because i chose the place and they like my plans
im sure you can pursuade people to move to another planet ok
