Thunderheart just posted something that indicates cities need to be rank 3 to register on the city map.
This isn't a flame or a rant or anything - we'll be rank 3 next week anyway - but it would be helpful to know what the answer is so that we can plan which skills to train. If, for example, you do need rank 3 to register a city, then that frees up 1000 XPs to train something else the first week.
So: is there any concrete information one way or the other?

He was misinformed, it's a level 1 skill box, Fiscal 1 I believe that gives you this ability. It costs 5k per week and it's up to the mayor to register the city, it's not automatic.

yeah and Place shuttle port is Fiscal 2 but you still need a City Rank of 4.
I thought to register is City 2. hopefully that hasn't changed

Here's what Thunderheart said:
This is confusing to say the least. We know politicians need Fiscal Policy 1 to register a city. Does the above mean that a mayor can't register a city until it reaches level 3? Or does it mean that a city appears on the map - whether you want it to or not - when it reaches level 3?
Some clarification would be helpful. Again, I'm not angry/raving/whining or anything... it would be helpful to know the answer to this question so I don't buy a skill I can't use for another week.

When Player Cities get to Level 3, they will appear on the Planetary Maps

According to Green Monkey the Politician XP cap is more than 2x. Now here is my question.
You need to be city rank 2 to place a bank but you have to have Fiscal 2. You have Register City as Fiscal 1 but you have to be city rank 2. Who came up with that logic?

Registering a city on the Planetary map is just somethign to pad the Ego's of said cities. If you have merchants in your town then they should have their Merchants on the Planetary Map already bringing the customers to your city that way. I would think if you were a city of less than 35 people you really want too many people to know where your city was.

That is true, Skedoozy. I'm not denying that, I'm just saying that the logic of the skills and the requirements to use said skills make no sense whatsoever.

Oh it actually makes perfect sense. It's called Bureaucracy, and politics and a city can't work without it. Red Tape and Paper work...That's what all those dang e-mails are for.

Hmm, that fellow didn't mention whether or not he was registered on the map.
We still need confirmation.
