Thread: Better Income Reporting

As a Novice Politician and Mayor of our city on Talus, I was wondering if there's plans to have a mail sent to the mayor detailing income, and possibly even reports so you can compare income to past weeks.

I'd really like to know where the money in the treasury is coming from - everything from Sales Tax, Property Tax, Donations, etc... That way I know if I should lower tax rates or increase them.

Same here Chong. The city has made 50k this week and I have no idea where it came from. The most I can come up with though taxes is about 10k so I have no idea where the other 40k came from. It is possible that someone donated some to the treasury but without an email or something, I just don't know.

Someone put 300k in our treasury that I know of, but we've got another 40k either in maintenance, sales, residency fees, something... That's through just 2 days so I pulled back to a 2% sales tax (right now i'm the only one really affected by this)

I just have no idea where the money's coming from and would like to know.

I totally agree. I put money into the treasury and get no notice (being mayor also) but when I take money out EVERYONE knows

(I dropped 200k into the hall to start not knowing what is maint at the time.. but then our new mayor that was suppose to be mayor in the beginning said it would be safer to reduce that amount in case of "hostile takeover")

hehe.. at least all citizen will get notice when mayor takes money OUT of the treasury (upto 50k per day)

Or make it a function on the terminal itself

I thought taxes and such were collected and put into the treasury on a weekly basis, starting the first week after placing the City Hall. Therefore, I would think you could assume any credits currently in the treasury have been made by donations into it...unless, of course, you somehow placed your City Hall before I did

/agree

I totally flipped and thought taxes were getting charge(income tax) to the citizens everytime they logged in on a new day, my treasury kept getting higher and higher. Apparently no emails for donations, what kind of idiot did that, no email saying so and so donated such and such to the city, how am I suppose to formally thank my citizens for donations?

Yup, same here - I have no idea what part of my treatury comes from taxes, and what is from donations. It is a trivial problem now in this first week, but when cities are metropolis size, it is going to take careful planning to adjust taxes to the correct levels - it would help a lot to know A) when donations are made and B) how many credits are coming from each tax type.

I agree we need a breakdown on revenue streams.

Also, can we get the structure report to be useful? I thought it would list every structure in the city and its owner, I thought that is what the screenshots from test center showed.

So I deleted every email I got about so and so has a house or whatever in my town.

You wont get your taxes or anything until the END of the 7 days. So any money there your citizens donated. (Aside from the 35K that came with the hall when you placed it)

Are you sure? People have been getting messages about the citizen tax - they are razzing me because it is set at 1 credit And I am pretty sure the sales tax is getting added in, not sure about the property tax.
