Thread: Can We Quit Changing Rules
The in-game ranks for cities are:
Outpost - 5
Village - 10
Township - 30
City - 50
Metropolis - 80
Now all of a sudden these were bumped up????
Why???
Luckily my city made the 10 limit but if I followed the online guide of 5 I would have lost everything.
totally agree
at first I was upset I cannot built on tatooine (we had a settlement there for a VERY long time)
so we moved to datooine.. now I'm glad we moved.. why?
1. advance planet.. our advance "militia" can train and work here...
2. more remote.. higher chance of growth...
3. advance planet... which mean more business.. people don't have to go back to "starting planet" to get stuff.... I love it.
yes so many not very well thought out cities on the main 3 planets... whoever built their cities with 1K of an established city weren't thinking sanely.... honestly.,... who wants to take a 600m long shuttle ride when they can walk there in 45 secs and 20 on mount.... its not like you can trade with the city of Bestine or Theed... lol
Far remote cities make sense especially near themeparks, bases, etc... msot likely those places have 0 amenities around and many people have said "Wouldn't it be nice to clone here" or " sure wish I could take a shuttle here
bending the rules only will allow more of the poorly-thought cities that I mentioned above, which will totally devalue the in-game worth of city structures (poor architects) and the actual value of the city itself....
not quite intelligent thinking of SOE Devs here...
Quit bending rules to accomodate... use strategy... heck just use your brain... stop having everything given to you

Very Well Put. Agree completely. However, we were just one of those groups trying to do just that: place a city near a POI that people constantly run to and desparately wished for a clone center and shuttle to be nearby rather than run the 4-5k just to get back. But because we did not place our hall early enough, we missed our chance.
In fact, because of the fact that our potential city site was 4k away from the nearest town, it took our newly trained politician waaaay much longer to get there than those satellite city's mayors to get to their town spots. The whole 10-cap system, therefore, encouraged placing close to NPC towns. Anyone placing more than 1.5k away from the shuttle had no chance to place. Raising the cap allows for those remote places to provide needed services to places like Jabba's palace or the Tusken fort.
In short, the raising of the cap is good.
Yeah, it's great waking up in the morning on Dantooine, enjoying the sunrise from my front porch, then fighting my way past the Relic Quenkers and Huurton Matrons to ye ol' structure factory. Ahhh yes....refreshing!
Hehe.. I know the feeling... but I'm fast and good.. I can make it.. sometimes I cannot make it. ah well.. but I can always call upon our protector to clean it out for me
(lately I notice we dont' get as much spawn in our zone area.. hmm I wonder)
Yes you need to be resourceful... don't all of us have to fight traffic to go to work anyhow???? At least the ones with the good jobs do... :-P
As is said in a famous movie... "Nothing in life comes easy, Ellen. You should know that...."

Agreed on the LA portion... you know I think I have never gotten DBed in 3 months playing by a random mob on my way to and from something.... no missions and PCs are different story... :-)
4x just now trying to look for something on Dantooine..
