Thread: So what happens when the new outposts hit 20 citizens?
I understand that we can place outposts soon and they wont cost agains the city cap (yay) but what happens when my outpose reaches the newest rank attaining level? Well if the cap is still at 10 I stay small, fine but if one of the city halls that made the race is lost due to something or another who gets to advance? When the devs up the cap limit in a few weeks who gets to advance?
They are upping the caps to server capacity, well ok but what if there are 36 outposts and they all havemore then 20members. The server capacity of player cities is 29. Who gets to advance and go on to metropolis status?
If a dev or admin doesn't respond to this, as I know they won't, would Plinka or someone with a direct route to someone in charge ask them to answer a few of these questions please.
I'm wondering this myself. It's good to know that the mayor will still gain XP at Outpost size, but yeah . . . who moves first?
For now, I'm guessing that those cities who made the mad rush will make it to Rank II (we hope, some of us) so we can continue to grow, but I know that won't happen to everyone. So even those who got in the first wave are not guaranteed to stay at the front of the game by any means.

Yeah okay I am kind of confused here too. Right now, some friends and I were lucky enough to get a city hall down on Valcyn on Naboo. Right now we have 15 declared residents, and should easily make 20 by next Friday (7 days from when we put down the hall). However, if they put this new patch in before then, well then anyone has a chance to get to 20 citizens, andwhat determines who is allowed to progress past Outpost?
It is kind of confusing.
Sha'mad Conde.
The thing that amuses me is that its been stated that the reason for the caps is technical limitations created by too many buildings and items contained therein, etc.
Guess what? If the cap is lifted on setting up an outpost, this is completely bogus. As the city grows, my city hall does not become more cluttered.
Maybe they meant all municipal buildings. OK, so we have the city hall, bank, cloning center, theater, cantina, and med center. Cap of 10 cities, gives us as many as 6 buildings per, for a total of 60 buildings. (Like this is going to tax the database) Compare to an infinite number of city halls. 60 vs. Infinity.
Oh, baby, this was a good idea.
Not.
Do we have anymore info on this? It is sad to see Pliinka go, as I was hoping she would be able to find some more information regarding city growth. Does anyone know how they will determine which cities grow past Outpost?
Sha'mad Conde.
Actually, several of the cities will reach their cycle at different times. And other people won't access their terminals until later than that. For example, my town has 4 days 18 hours 32 minutes. Meanwhile, Smither T. Smith's town has 5 days 1 hour and 10 minutes left. Well,I will have the option to grow before him by a good 5 hours. Hence, me first. But say you have to decide to upgrade (which I believe you do), then I could be drunk on the couch and sleep through my whole 5 hour head start and Smither T. Smith could upgrade before just by getting to his terminal first after his cycle is up.
Either way, some cities aren't going to get to upgrade, and others cities will have a mayor camped out at the terminal waiting to see what happens. I can't wait to find out personally. Though I'm on Lok, so I doubt there will be a huge rush of city upgraders.
Hope it helps a little. ![]()

I don't understand ...
The cap is on City Halls, not on a Rank ... once the population needed is reached and a week is passed the city upgrades automaticly to my understanding. No mater how many other cities on the planet or in the galaxy there are or what Rank they have.
hehe ... ok ... just found THs Post on the changes (My DevTracker seems to be broken
)
Still, as I think city-grouth is automatic the first cities founded will be the ones to get the next Rank, so I guess.

All was decided on the first land rush, so sad...
thats not necesserily true. If one city falls below 20 citizens (or they raise cap) at e.g. sunday, than the outpost, who was build just a week before finishing its election 30 min thereafter, could be the lucky outpost (if it works like my first post).
