I have no idea how much a metropolis, fully decorated, max mission terminals and trainers, with industrial society specialization, but I'm fully prepared to pay 500k a week, more if necessary to maintain it, even if it has to come out of my pocket (we have no taxes)

Have any other cities that have made level 2 or higher noticed they maint on city hall and other city buildings went up with the new level? Why is that? Why do we have to pay more maint on the EXACT same size building? At outpost level it was 35k per week. Now at Village level it is 60k per week. This seems to have just appeared out of nowhere, without any warning. This is rediculous!

That's not city hall maintenance, that's the cost of running the city. Do you think the Empire (or whoever is the controlling party of the planet you're on) will let you control large tracts of land without paying for it? City hall may still be the same size, but the size of your city has grown, so you have to pay for that bigger size.

If 15k a week more is that big ofa deal for you and your citizens you might want to rethink having a city. They are not intended to be cheap. As it stands right now I think they should up the costs. It is cheaper to have a bank than a house by several factors atm.

I do believe that one of the Beta cities on Test Center got up to 1 miillion / week. But they had every public civic structure and decoration.

Originaly, the City Hall cost a flat 150/week no matter what your citylevel was. Some people complained and now the cost is scaled to the city's level.

Feelbetter now?

One must wonder if you understand how the mechanics of funding a city in this game work....

Every time you place a street light... that adds maintenence cost

Every time you place a terminal... added cost

Every civic building you place.... more cost

Every time your city gets larger... more cost

As was stated above, you are not paying for the city hall, you are paying for the city. Fountains, terminals, land, it all costs money that must be paid for your city to exist. Saying your city hall is the same size so the maintenence should be the same when your city is now 100m larger in diameteris ludicrous. That is the equivalent of saying you own a small rancher in the country, and just bought 100 ajoining acres of land, but you don't think your property taxes should go up because your house is the same size.

If you cannot afford the maintenence on the hall, then increase your taxes, run some missions, bring in more residents, or simply resign yourself as mayor.

in the maint report you can look at, it lists each structures maint for the week. and city hall on lvl 2 is 60k...this is kinda dumb. its the same stinking building. why make it cost more?

Don't know why you're bitching, it used to be 100k for an Outpost . . . .

they should add another floor to the building at that stage, its a multistory on the outside, and single story on the inside, a sort of reverse tardis if you will.

omg can you not understand that i understand? as i had stated above... i was talking about the maint on city hall. the freaking streetlamps and statues etc are listed seperatly on the treasury report. geez i have said that twice so far. what i dont get is why the SAME STINKING BUILDING costs more to maintain just b/c we get 10 more citizens. its not the money, we have more than enough, its the principle of the thing. larger cities have more buildings to maintain, so why make all of them cost more individually. geez gather all your info before you try to talk down to someone next time.
