Every week, instead of it updating every 7 days, it just keeps getting longer and longer.

EXAMPLE: My city updated last week 5 hours later then it should have, there was server problems on the big patch day so I didnt sweat that one to bad, but now this week it isnt updating untill 10 hours after that adjustment, meaning that my city will now update at 7 am eastern FRIDAY MORNING. So lets do the math - Originally placed city at 4pm 2 weeks ago - lastweek city doesnt update until 9pm(5extra hours) - this week it will update at 7am FRI morning (8 more hours). So someone please explain how 7days+5hours+8hours= a week, by my calculations that is more like 8 days.

Is this going to be a reccurring problem that by the time my city hits Rank 5 it will be taking 11 or 12 days to update?

ummm... havn't you figured out yet that everytime the server goes down (including the daily server restarts) time effectively stands still. Time on everything is pushed back. That's why maintenance last longer on things than it actually should, the vulnerable time on faction bases varies cause of server downtime too. It's not a new thing. If your update is 5 hours later than you thought it should be, that means the servers have been down for 5 hours over the past week. Is that so hard to understand? It'll certainly vary from week to week, but you'll never have 11-12 days between updates. Just chill out.

It seems to me that when the servers go down every day, the counter stops.

So that about 14 hours a week extra.

Its because of the server downtime, its not taken out of the time till next city expansion, even though they should. Personally I'm going to send in a ticket and see if I can get those hours before.

What they should do is treat the politician like any other profession. Earn experience when votes are cast rather than weekly. As it is now, we have to WAIT 7 days + to get experience and then deal with the bugs a week after that until the next election.

Not right. Just not right.

Our city is very small, to the point where I only get a box a week. Our citizens look forward to each update very eagerly, and it sucks not knowing exactly what to tell them as to when they can see the changes. Last week we had the town standing around waiting for me to get my XP so they could start using mission terminals, and I didn't get it until sometime on Friday afternoon or so (naturally, no CSR ticket was needed). Now they want to know when to meet me so that people can join the militia, and I can't give them an answer. That really sucks when you're trying to organize an international city, with players from California to Germany.

If you click your City Maintaintence Terminals' tab called Maintainence, it will display the time remaining before the next city update. Yes, the number changes throughout the week, but you can give your citizens a pretty accurate time table as the week progresses as to when the update will occur.

As it appears the clock is ticking only when the server is up, rather than real-time, I wouldn't expect this to change. Best thing to do is be prepared and check your city's status!

That would be fine, if I were constantly in the city, but I do a LOT of travelling and we're no 1.5k out by any means. They really should just make it static, like have it calculate when the server comes up on the weekly aniversary of your city placement.

I was under the impression that it has to do with when you city updates....not from the first time, EACH time.

This example runs true for us:

Ie: Week 1 - Hall placed 3:20pm PST

Week 2 - 3:21pm PST Next City Update resulted in Error, for about 3.5 hours, then the emails went around, the Mayor got her XP. Cycle started again.

Week 3 - Seemingly now7pm PST was the time, but it kept 'jumping' and backdating itself and just occured now, we've been checking it every 15mins or so....(yes we really want that cloning center!)

I was going to post a scorch the devs post but some one beat me to it.

18 hours is just plain nuts, next week it'l be closer to 36 hours and so on. The Devs need to uncork and fix this issue. My city went up at 4pm est on that thursday, I expect, no I demand that it expand on the same date and time every week or we'll be waiting longer and longer on exp. Totaly throwing the politicains a screw ball on advancement.

Not to mention making the Politician skill branch that much harder it fill in.

I am -very- annoyed by this situation.

Yeah, it's only been 2 weeks now, but the pattern so far has the update time being pushed back 5 to 8 hours each week. This kinda sucks. Soon we'll be getting our XP on Mondays instead of Thursday.
