Thread: Regarding people placing minefields around your city
He didn't say he was a rebel city, he said he had some rebel citizens. I have contacted TH about this very issue, he answered he would do some research. Well, his research is long.
The whole GCW concept is wwarped anyway. You have to risk PvP to get to shoot at NPC stormtroopers, even if you hate PvP. As usual, PvPers are locking a game portion for themselves only. As with all the PvP problems encroaching on everybody's play, this was an issue we yelled at but the developers were deaf to it as usual.
A LOT of people are neutral, some are Rebel, some are Imperial. However, since this guild believes this city hall was placed on purpose to attack their HQ, they continue their aggressive stance against us. That's fine. I'll just have to advertise the existence of their HQ now to have it destroyed by the "active Rebel Guilds" on my server.

Talking to them would be a good idea. Find out why they think you're there to attack. Did someone in the city participate in a raid? If you're rebel yourself, get some of the neutral/imperial members of the city to help in talks, to demonstrate that you aren't there for rebel PvP. They might even be interested in participating in the city, as it is so close to their base.
By far the worse thing you can do is say 'they started it' and start to purposefully try and upset them. If you do organise the destruction of thier base, they'll just hate you even more. It will make your problem 100 times worse, not better, as all it does is demonstrate that you are there to wage war on their base after all. It's likely to be more than minefields appearing on your doorstep if you start taking action like that.
Has it occured to anyone that -----
"THERE'S A WAR GOING ON PEOPLE"
War is hell. That's the way it is. This is Star WARS, remember.
Prepare for battle, this is War.

I hate this, but it's true. As a politician, try to work out a deal with them. It's kind of your job. I would imagine that since minefields do not take any maintenance, there must be some stipulation as to how they'll be dealt with, within the city. I am also a mayor of a city, and I am near a faction base. I should say I've been lucky not to have been griefed in this manner, as I have both Imp and Rebel players in my City. One thing that has probably saved my hide is that I do not allow PA Halls in my city. This is mainly b/c of house lot limitations, but ALSO in part to a matter of perception. If I have an Imp guild in my city, no matter if I'm faction affiliated or not, Rebels will attack my city as an Imp city. Same scenario, reversed -Rebel guild to Imp accusations. Perception means SO much to the public, this can not be forgotten. Why not wait to allow PA halls into the city until you are large enough that A) you have enough space as a level 4+ to allow for PA Halls without elbowing houses AND B) have enough clout as a city that you can't be griefed so badly in this manner.
Part of a Mayors job is responsible planning. Without a plan... these issues are inevitable.
Anyway,
Cheers!
