Thread: Some things that need to be revamped to avoid any form of grief play from mayors...
Some. However, first the mayor elected should be trustworthy I dont know how someone who would do all these things would be elected even if he was incumbant mayor... I doubt this could happen. Now, if you share city with a guild and they try to coup and take your city over THAT is more likely... so for that scenerio yeah change some things.
Now otherwise it wouldn't happen imo. Only if you allow a griefer guild in or they come in on their own.
just my thought
Caldorn
Avalon City Mayor
you can label a name, but you will never know which account its on. if they remove the character, then there is no way for you to know who that person is when they make a new one.
and believe it or not... im sure somebody will do it, or already has done it to other aspects of the game already.

Then that Mayor is just an idiot... he already has your vote. Unless anyone else is running, it doesnt matter.
what use is a treasury if you cant touch it, why do you elect mayor if you wont let s/he arrange the taxes. if you fear problems, elect the right man. this is what happens in the real world. if you vote for the wrong person, you bear it.
city hall destroying might be or might not be a good idea thats open to discussion.
So a few things that i propose be revamped or removed all together...
1. the ability to instantly destroy a city hall. once voted in, anybody who decides to become evil can do so. the ability to destroy a hall should not be instant and should be put on a 7-8 day timer. This gives the people a chance to get a new canditate a chance to register and get voted in to avoid the possibility of the hall being instantly destroyed.
2. Treasury. Its too easy to completely loot the treasury. While this may be the risks of owning a city hall, its too easy for somebody to take the jackass way out and steal the money put into the city. I recommend that the ability to withdraw funds be limited in that a mayor can only take out what is needed that day to upkeep a structure. If nothing needs upkeeping then he can take nothing from the treasury. The only time that a mayor should have complete access to the treasury is if the 7-8 day period is up and a city hall is to be destroyed. Then he should have the ability to clean it out to avoid it being lost.
3. /setprivacy. this command has to be removed completely from the city hall. this prevents anybody from voting, and registering for mayor. major profession breaker.
4. Taxes. Voters should have the ability to vote on tax increases. its only fair for them to prevent a mayor that wishes to pop the taxes to 50% and then /setprivacy to prevent another mayor from unseating them. If the tax increase is justifiable then the citizens will vote to approve it.
Any thoughts?
