Thread: weird effects with specials since the patch

The only answer I can think of (using knowledge from pre-patch) is that the NPCs were already damaged, but that your client hadn't been updated yet.

Ever been running through the wild and suddenly seen a damage number float above some NPC or lair in the distance? But there are no players around... it's just that sometime in the past it was damaged, and your client is now being updated...

Or you land a bleed on a mob, run away, and peace. Mob goes off target / out of range. Come back a bit later, and see a sudden drop as the mob's HPs are updated to reflect the damage they've taken over time - but all at once.

I had a very weird thing happen today.


I went to engage a group of 3 humanoid npcs, cycled through them all before engaging -all were unwounded,targetted the first and opened the fight with Healthshot2. Here's where it gets weird - his action bar dropped (as did the Mind/Health but less). The bleed still landed though - so I start to move away, swapping targets - and the next guy is wounded already !! Basically as near as I can tell my initial Healthshot2 somehow not only landed a bleed on the main target but did AoE damage as well !???


I tried a couple more fights, but didn't get this to happen again - but it wasn't a large sample. Anyone else having "weird" results?


Also for what its worth my stopping shots were landing for much higher average damage than previously - spikes up to 1800dam, where I had previously never seen higher than 1400s out of the same pistol/same powerups.
