The speed line is the best, followed by the accuracy line. The other two lines don't do much for you.

I've got the xp to get my first box in Pistoleer. I'm thinking marksmanship, but I've heard others say Stances and Grips.

Any advice?

Do the Stances and Grips tree which is now called Pistol Techniques. This tree gives you your best shots such as Stopping shot and Fan shot. But then you need to work on your Marksman tree because this helps with your pistol accuracy.
