Pistoleer Archive
Thread: Master Pistoleer should be able to use two guns.
Why?
Real life: I've never seen a pistoleer who used two pistols except on TV.
Ironic: Oh, right, like one Krayt FWG5 isn't enough already.
Balancing: Do *you* want to be the one responsible for trying to balance this in game?
Star Wars Fanboy: Well, you know if you look int he background of frame #25,691 in Episode 2, you can make out Toothpick Jones, the infamous bounty huner that EVERYONE knows uses two pistols.
Overworked: Sheesh, don't you think we should ask to have the BUGs fixed before we ask for new stuff?
GameAddict: YES! Now I can be just like Lara Croft!
Moronic: B CUZ ITS KEWL
Comic Book Guy: Silliest - Idea - Evar!
Okay, seriously. Why?
I'm nearly a master pistoleer. I don't like this idea, I don't support it, and I'd never ask for it. That said, it definately goes higher on my list of things to ask for than "holsters." ... sheesh.
Umm Krayt PIstols suck balls in PVP.. id rather use 1 Dx2 than 2 krayts
Ironic: Oh, right, like one Krayt FWG5 isn't enough already.
Duel wielding is a cool idea but to balance things you would have to make it be a tradeoff in which you cannot use specials while you equip 2 pistols.
No then you would no no damage.. you would have to do something else like slow run speed.. or remove defence mods and add 2.5 damage penalty. limit range to 32..
Certain drawbacks for added bonuses
Aubenn needs to relax a bit I"m thinking. I mean honestly, using real life as an excuse not to do something in a game where people have giant aliens prancing along behind them at their beck and call, heh. Anyway, 2 pistols isn't hard to do at all without overbalancing the game.
It's a percentage thing. If master pistoleer were to get dual wielding it would right to do a bit of a damage upgrade, but not much. Say 10 or 15%..maybe not even that, it would be up to the developers. To get that upgrade in damage you'd do main hand pistol 60% of normal damage and offhand 50% (or 45% or 55%, depending on what the devs want the bonus to be). This way you don't get some huge overbalancing game change and people get the "coolness" factor of blasting away with two hands.
And please, for those of you who have your head stuck on the concept of "reality", please, give it up. You're playing a video game set in a "galaxy far, far away" where people commonly do a jitterbug toheal yourwounds ;p.
If they put in Duel Wield I doubt you'd be able to use specials.
Like how they are doing it with mounts. No special attacks while riding a mount.

There is no way you can hold, fire and hityour targetwhen holding a pistol with one hand, let alone if you are holding two.
Enough said.
For the aiming thing, to balance game it should of course be less accurate. I fail to see why the exact same gun used with 2 hands is making more dmg than with 1 hand but if you want...after all, a pistoleer using a scatter is only able to do 10% of weapon dmg, so the guns are really "aware" of who is firing
The main reason you lose accuracy with nowadays pistols when dual wielding is the porjectile velocity that makes it more harder to recover innate movement after a shot. I wonder how it should work with a beam based weapon, with no projectile velocity.
