A Pistoleer will get a +30 on this defense. Can someone tell me if it really makes a difference? I've heard from some that the defense mods in this game do not work right.

If defense Vs. knockdown mods work well, then it makes me wonder if it would be good to take up a single brawler line (esp. fencer) who gets another +40 (i think) on defense vs. KD

what do you guys think?

Your thinking is the chain of thought that lead to the defensive vs xxxx skills being disabled during beta

Because they stack and you can take just the defensive lines from multiple professions, they can become too powerful. Unfortunately Sony didn't address the balance issue, but instead just disabled them.

Even more unfortunately, they decided to nerf KD and Posture Down, and will probably nerf Dizzy before too long (and Panic Shot, although no defense exists vs that, as far as I know), all without fixing the defensive side of the equation first. Very poor.

I'm not completly sure on this but i have tested it a lil vs Master TKA /duels I've Pistol Whipped 2-3 times, hit everything and w/o knocking down the TKA, sometimes i Knock him down first shot others it may take more than 4, and this is vs +50 KD, so not sure if it actualy is working or not.

I have 50 to knockdown resist and have resisted knockdown 0 times.

Works fine for me. Don't expect it to magically block all knockdowns, but it works once in awhile. Also remember it still deals damage even if you do resist it.

A number of us (including Jaegen)have confirmed that Defense to Knockdown doesn't work. I've tested it byhaving someone shoot me at least 100 times with various knockdown attacks, and I never resisted knockdown a single time.
