Thread: Disarm shot

I worked very very hard to get the 175K to get to the next pistol level. I get disarm shot thinking it would do just that, but instead all it does is damage a weapon's condition -- how obserd is that, even if it doesn't knock the weapon out of a players hand the least it should do is implement a wait state (say 5-8 seconds) where they can not fire a ranged shot. the current skill is useless and I feel as if I have waisted a lot of XP on a very useless skill when I could have put it on a different skill that would have actually made a difference in gameplay. I also have a lot of issues with the Squad Leader profession but I will not even get into those here. I am really starting to hate the way this game is once you get past the initial "newbie" professions.

Thanks,

Actually, it doesn't do anything. A friend and I tested last night in PvP, it didn't lower his weapon condition at all.

Just posting this cause i didn't see it suggested anywhere i don't think disarm shot should damage a wepon but it should *knock the wepon out of the user's hand*.

Then wepon then could simply be *unequiped* into the users inventory where they would have to then re-equip it to use it next round. No damage just a lost round to attack you.Disarm works very well in PvP in everquest and I assume it would be just as easy to implement that here.

I'm not sure if this suggestion has been beaten to death ...

It would give em a reason to keep an eye on their inventory. Personally I think it should get unequipped and have a 5 second timer to re-equip on it. And if it is going to damage weapons it had better destroy them outright. Dinging a new 1000/1000 weapon for 100 or even 500 points is stupid and useless. Weapon condition doesn't (and had better NEVER) effect the weapons min/max speed etc. So it makes it pointless for PVP and especially PVE, it gives you 0 advantages and just annoys your opponent who is going to win now that you wasted time on dinging his weapon.

Any weapon you have equipt is already taking up a spot in your inventory.

The game appears to already support "inventory overflow" lately. I'm guessing this was added to accomodate people's backpacks getting taken off when the big patch made them not stack with some cloaks? Some actions, like trading and crafting, now often take your inventory up past 60/60. So while a worn item (clothing and armor at least, not sure on weapons) takes up 0 in your inventory, it shouldn't be a problem taking it off, even if it pops you over 60.

I think the bigger issue with just dropping it to inventory is that it's pretty useless. With weapons hotkeyed, it only takes a split second to re-equip the weapon.

i think disarming shot should be able to destroy weapons.. screw griefing.. there are so many other ways to grief in this game its not even funny.. it just goes towards risk and reward.. you wanted to fight the pistoleer.. he wanted to fight you.. your gun is now destroyed.. he pistol whips you in the teeth you fall down he blasts you to oblivion..

whats the problem with this?

lets all be care bears.. i dont wanna grief.. i mean were playing a war game pretty much but someone just paid 25k for a new carbine gun so i dont wanna make him mad wahhhh

god it amazes me how many pistoleers i see that have a problem with this... you ask a BH if they would like a skill like this or for that matter a tka and you will get the proverbial hellz yah

forget a 30 second timer and a 5 second down time that wouldnt solve anything but make the move more useless than it already is..

example: you do a disarmshot2.. item is forced into the backpack for five seconds allowing you to get off basicly 2 to 3 shots but since weapons can be hot keyed from the toolbar he has his weapon oops underhand shot! oops eye shot!.. oops you died because you didnt want to grief anyone

Well actually its pretty stupid to be wanting to fight a Bounty Hunter, master of pistols or not...run. Besides Jedi, BH's are the most feared people in the Galaxy
