Thread: Reasons why are not overpowered.
This subject has been eating me alive. I preach how pistoleer(at master) is screwed up to my friends and random people. I feel like my concerns are falling on deaf ears.I post here to 'enlighten' the other classes about our "overpowered" profession. It is clear ALOT, ALOT of people think pistoleers are overpowered. I would gladly debate how we arn't overpowered.
Maybe at lower levels, pistoleers have an edge.But in a game that has nearly no content, what is there to do? Nothing much but level up, and farm credits.Its only a matter of time(not much time might I add) that everyone will master their profession.
So here it is, for the non-pistoleers. The reason why are not overpowered.
1)No dizzy, no stun.
2)Only KD after patch will a close ranged KD, MeleeDefence1.Yes, I understand that melee classes suffer the same, but they have DIZZY.If you ever been Dizzied+KD and lived, enlighten me. I wear 50-52% composite and yet to have lived past a dizzy+KD
3)At master, both carbineers(with BH) AND riflemen (With some +speed attachment) can reach 1shot per second. I've seen screenshots of BOTH classes hitting for over 5k.Then they say about the HAM cost?The game isn't meant for everyone to solo.If your out hunting, or battling factions, you normally have a CM/Doc with you.Please don't talk about HAM costs. "But the riflemen have unhealed HAM costs!" Nothing a little Veghash can't fix (I won't talk about spices, they bug my stats to hell). Support your local chef I say! Wouldn't you for 5k shot per seconds to unhealable pool?I sure would.I've also been told by a fellow PA mate (master TKA) he has hit for over 5k. I'll take his word for it (haven't seen a SS of it yet).So every master combatant class beats us on damage.And we all have near the same speed.So a determined carbineer, riflemen and pistoleer could all get 1shot per second specials
4)Random HAM pool attacks.Stuff I could 3-shot kill(Riflemen/carbineers 1shot kill) takes me up to 6-7 shots to kill, if I get unlucky.
5)And IMO the biggest reason we are not overpowered. NO-HIGHER-THAN-AP1-WEAPONS.Riflemen and carbineers both get AP2 weps.Heck,I think swordsmen even get AP2 weps.
Once again, I just needed to vent.Hopefully some of the other marksmen out there read this, and see how we arn't overpowered.
Lets remember my point of view is from a COMPLETE template. Im not talking about a nov pistoleer. Im talking about all-points-used-up.A great number of pistoleers go BH. A great number of carbineers go BH.This is how we reach 1shot per second specials.Im sure someone will say they can't shoot at 1shot per second specials.If they WANTED, they could.Pistoleers/Carbineers need BH.Riflemen need attchments.We all need basically the same EFFORT for it.My whole point was not to compare the nov combatants to the complete template combatant.
My template is master pistoleer/BH pistol3/nov medic for stim B's.I love it sorta. But the only specials I use is DS2 and eyeshot.I do use Stopping shot (for the sheer damage, but the random pool shots really do prolong fights/get me killed). BTW it is 5:15 AM, im sure this ain't the best written post.
So with this in mind, are we still overpowered?If so, how?-DP

if this template isn't overpowered ... I don't know.
The template is nice. But carbineer/BH can **edit** near insta kill you. Or Dizzy+KD=you lose. Riflemen can 1shot kill still. Dizzy+suppression works well. NEXT-DP
