Hey all,

First off everyone doing research on pistoleer is doing a fantastic job, especially the correspondent. I'm wondering though, how does Quickness affect weapon speed? Does it? If so, in how much?

If you mean the "Pistol Speed" modifier you get as you advance up the Pistoleer tree, then check the FAQ for the equation.

If you mean Quickness the attribute, that has nothing to do with weapon speed. It only effects action regen.

Quickness affects only action HAM use (stamina is the action regen stat).

Whoops, right. I always mix those two up.

By the way, I've noticed that Quickness is a waste of HAM points and have been putting more into Stamina and Action instead. Have you noticed the same thing, Noules?

My observation is the only really important secondary stat is willpower. This is because you can't heal mind, of course, and IMO everyone involved in combat needs to max willpower. As a rifleman, I also cap focus to minimize my mind usage - it's not a huge help, but any amount is better than none. For non-riflemen, or those who don't use much mind for specials, focus is probably not that big a deal.

I would recommend maxing willpower, and then splitting points between your primary special move stat and focus. Majority of your discretionary points should end up in pool. The only exception is for whatever reason you don't have access to medic abilities (either through someone else, or you have medic), in which case having some more into the regen stats makes sense. Even a novice medic with no boxes can heal for around 300 per stim with a good stim B. The special moves stats usually aren't worthwhile unless you use A LOT of specials from that pool (note I didn't say specials that use lots, but lots of specials - this is because 10 points of focus stat is apparently equivalent to one less pool per use of special. You get the most benefits if you use lots of low-cost specials from the focus stat).

Meant quickness as is actual stat... so what does it effect? Stamina is action regen, con is health regen, seems to leave quickness floating in the breeze... unless it affects movement speed. I haven't noticed a difference between 500 quick and 2k quick (go Enhance D packs )

Purz, as he said quickness affects the action cost of your special moves. So if BodyShot2 cost you 30 action before, it might cost you only 28 after stat migration.

I've rarely found that reduction to be worth the cost, however.

Well, since this is one of the weakest RPGs ever from an RPG standpoint (but strong PvP wise... whoop dee do...), none of your stats affect anything.

Strength doesn't make you faster, quickness doesn't make you quicker, focus doesn't help you focus any better. Just 3 pools with 6 secondary stats that affect how quickly they drain and re-fill.

Very pitiful.

Noules,

Thanks for that post, can you clarify why you like willpower so much? Also when you use the term Pool what did you mean by that, I was a bit confused reading it.

Thanks again,

Willpower makes your Mind regen faster. If you can heal effectively, it's better to keep your mind bar full and just use Stims to heal the other two. If you have no medic abilities (bad idea -- although I'm one of the offenders) and don't have a medic around, then you might want to try something different.

When I use the term 'pool', I am referring to the main HAM bars - health, action, mind. The reason I like willpower is because mind cannot be healed, and so your down time due to mind is completely dependent on your willpower stat. The other pools can be healed, either by you (for a small mind cost) or by someone else, so their regen stats aren't quite as useful.
