Thread: i blame my bong!
firstly i would like to thank jaegen for all the time and effort he is putting in to champion our cause. i realize that virtually all information regarding all aspects of our profession is on our boards however for the mentally challenged (like myself) , i still find myself very confused ( going through all the equations and formulas for speed and damage and special moves gave me flashbacks of struggling through introductory mathematics in college). i would be forever indebted to anyone who could just list the overall effectiveness of each special move in general terms (using the name of the special move as listed in the skill tree). basically i want a rough guide telling me what special moves are worth using , how u would rank them and what situation to use them in e.g in pvp or against creatures. i am not asking for mathematical justification for your choices since i will assume that whoever responds to this desperate plea knows his/her pistols inside out. i speak on behalf of all the dense but keen pistoleers out their who need this information to plan what skill tree to pursue and to become more effective in combat.

Ok man I'm really tired and about to head for bed, but here's a quick rundown.
IF YOU AREN'T A MASTER PISTOLEER OR HAVE ANY BOUNTY HUNTER PISTOL SKILLS:
Use BodyShot2 most of the time because it targets a single HAM bar instead of hitting a random one, plus it works in conjunction with your bleeds.
If the enemy has low HAM (for instance,a gnort or womp rat) then always use Stopping Shot if you have it since it will kill the enemy in one shot.
If you want to hit a random pool, try KipShot or RollShot from marksman. Some folks swear by FanShot but if you test it out, you'll see that these two are better unless you're on the run.
IF YOU ARE A MASTER *AND* HAVE A FAST PISTOL:
Use StoppingShot unless you want to be *certain* you want to hit the health pool. In that case, use BodyShot3.
IF YOU HAVE BOUNTY HUNTER PISTOL SKILLS:
Use EyeShot in PvP or if the mob has a low mind bar. Otherwise rely on TorsoShot and StoppingShot. I prefer using Torso all the time ... Stopping can sometimes be better and sometimes be worse, depending on which bars it hits. On average they're equal. However the DoT on Torso means you should use it at least once, and it is more effective if you use it multiple times, so I tend to rely on that instead of Stopping.
That's about it. Hope it's helpful. There's not a lot specials worth bothering with unless you get BH as well.
