I am just about to train in Novice Pistoleer. I am deciding on how to climb the ladder. I also purchased some composite armor that I would like to wear. However, I am looking to tweak my HAM stats, and wanted to see if there were any opinions on how to do it. I don't want to compromise the main 3 stats too much, just to beef up the secondary stats, but I am looking for a good balance...to allow me to wear the full set of armor, and also, to allow me to use the specials I will be gaining as Pistoleer. So, does anyone have a nice balance they are willing to share, that keeps the primary stats high enough to prevent quick death, but also provides good secondary stats to allow quick regen of the primaries, and allow the wearing of armor? Thanks in advance for anyone who contributes.

try to buff into the armor, jack up mind pool and willpower. use stimpacks. rest is moot

I would have to grab Novice Medic too, then? But just boost the secondary action enough to get into the gear...is that the reference to mind and willpower too, or are they something else that you would recommend? Should I compromise more on Health, or action then, to get the mind stats up? Do the special moves consume a lot of action points? Would 900 health, 900 mind, 700 mind be decent?

Thanks for the information, I am just learning how to use HAM points to tweak my combat skills...

There is no good way to wear armor while keeping reasonable regen rates except to use buffs. Food and spice help, but the duration is no where long enough and they are limited to how often you can use it.

Therefore, unless you have a pet doctor that can follow you around and buff you at will I recommendation is to ditch armor. Armor is good in situations of very short battles or tanking scenarios, otherwise it will just give you more grief than not. Pick up medic and learn First And and Pharm, buy some top of the line Stim C/Ds so you can heal your entire HAM in one shot and you'll be good to go. If you have the money you can sacrifice a lot of points from the rengeneration lines and stack them into mind regen or the basic HAM values and just rely on heals to stay up at max health.
