Thread: Master Pistoleer,,,So why can't i use Scatter Pistol??
We just need to get OUR pistol (DX2) fixed so it's worth using, instead of worrying about the Scatter Pistol.

Yep, we only want Pistoleers to be able to use pistols and this is everything. Funny you admit Scatter is everything, surely compared to what we already have ?
Personally i have no problem not being able to use a scatter pistol or launcher pistol because they are not pistoleer weapons. What pistoleer needs are a few more pistol certs. Also i think you shouldnt be able to use pistoleer specials with a scatter or launcher because they are pistoleer specials even though these weapons are pistols.

DX2 was only meant to be used at pointblank range as a melee type pistol, tho I see people attempt to use it in ranged combat > 0m and even >8m where the penalties are so great it takes an act of god to hit your target. Even throwing a low-ham (+1) scope on there that adds +11 to ideal range your still at -4 at 8m. As a novice pistoleer and Master Weaponsmith I can assure you that if they ever fix the crazy Republic Baster certs so pistoleers can use them you will see pistoleers carrying them like crazy. They are a nice AP1 weapon with scout-like stats (master made ones) and only take 2 identical BPH's to make as opposed to 4 which should allow me to charge less than I have to for a dx2. I agree that there needs to be more pistoleer certs, though one solution might actually involve moving the FWG5 into the pistoleer tree as there are SOOO many certs in the starter profession of marksman its creating balancing problems for other professions. Ideally if you had the republic blaster working (energy AP1) , the DX2 (acid AP1), and fixup the FWG5 (heat) to be AP1 you'd have a more all around selection of weapons to use.
Scatters aren't all they are cracked up to be.
They drain the action pool like a mofo.
