Does the Ranged weapons support tree in Marksman help in the pistoleer skills at all.

I'm only asking because I want to master Pistoleer, but if the ranged weapons support tree doesnt help any, I could drop it and put the points somewhere else.

I know you dont have to have it, but does it help you a whole lot in being a pistoleer?

One word= WarningShot.

Best skill a ranged guy can have PvE in my opinion.

Worth the points required and then some. Suppression fire can be useful in certain circumstances, so I'd advise going all the way up Ranged Support.

I was only wondering, I am master marksman already, but I decided to go the pistoleer way and was trying to figure out what to drop to pickup other skills........

Totally agree. Warning Shot is invaluable in PvE, and Suppression Fire remains on my toolbar for PvP. Both worthwhile investments, but I would never suggest dropping below Ranged Support III.

Suppression was my best friend before the posture change timer. It's still more useful than pistol whip for immobilizing an enemy, but it's not the great skill it used to be. You could get away with only having warning shot if you needed to conserve skill points.

If no pets then keep them .. if You are a CH then dump them.

Have to agree with waiomacca, I have been dropping pistol skill's as i advance in CH. Fanshot is next then suppressive fire then finally warning shot and probably the entire ranged support line to free up skill points. If your non-pvp and non-CH then keep he entire ranged support line.

I would like to add, make a macro for warningshot: ;warningshot;pause 1;peace. If it doesnt stick then hit the macro key again, if it sticks that time then let the critter run about 40 meters out then hit it with bodyshot to bring it back then hit your macro again. You can "kite" very effectively using that method. Another use is getting rid of an unwanted add, hit you warningshot macro on the unwanted and if it sticks switch to the target you want to kite. The unwanted add will most likely run out of range while you take care of buisness. Hope that helps.

P.S. If the pistoleer profession was working better I would drop CH because I like to "solo"....no pet's just me but sadly right now CH has a pure advantage in PvE..

Ok, bear with me here, I don't do PvP. Why is supression fire good for this? I can see against a melee opponent to keep them away from you, but what good is it against a ranged attacker? Doesn't this help them?

Suppression fire is great for forcing someone to kneel if they are running away from you. Especially NPCs (or PCs) who run away from you while shooting.
