I bought a 1.9 SPD/45-223 DMG unsliced FWG5 last night. I am planning on having it sliced today (hopefully it will be a damage slice). What are the best unsliced stats on different guns everyone here has experienced? DX2, ScoutB, etc etc.

The answer can't just be "mine is 60-280 dly 1.4" (this is my FWG5 Krayt - too bad I had a speed slice but still nice ) but 60-280 dly 1.4 AP0, Heat dmg, 64m max distance

Of course stats are impressive on FWG5 at 1st sight but mean dmg isn't that high and type of dmg / AP is just disappointing. Hunt elsewhere than on Corellia or Talus and you'll meet MANY mobs just immune to heat dmg. Sure you still hurt them but a 1500 dmg shot makes 2 dmg to the mob...figure.

ALL other Master Pistoleers I talk to are wearing AT LEAST one version of each dmg type he can have :

Acid (DX2 - broken AP)
Energy (Scout and DH17 for AP0 - SR Combat for AP1)
Heat (FWG5, no AP heat weapon for pistoleers)
Stun (Tangle, no AP)


Tangle and SR Combat are max 48m guns BUT they are the more efficient weapon against many mobs. I can't stop laughing while raiding when I see those ppl firing for ages on a 100% heat resistant mob with their so beloved FWG5.

Another thing : in PvP, if you are facing a guy with Composite Armor, the dmg of the FWG5 is divided by 4 (50% heat resistance (avg) and Light Armor). With the pvp restriction, it means your usual dmg wiii be divided by 16...it mens if you ONCE reached 1600 with Stopping Shot in PVE, the exact same shot will make 100 in pvp if Compo 50%.



Really, start consider other guns, they are not THAT bad.

i use lot of gun striker, scout, fwg5, and dx2 but i might be gettina tangle soon

I all different guns in different situations according to the resists fo the MOBs. Mountain squills get the FWG5. Most everything else gets the DX2 unless they have acid reists then a blaster or whatever the situation calls for.

53-250 unsliced from Thoax. Gorath. Got lucky with a 32% damage slice from Dv'et. Really good gun.
