Thread: TANGLE PISTOL: Whassit good for?
Sorry, I don't know what STUN DAMAGE is actually good for ![]()
Right now, the vendor I'm contemplating purchase from has the gun for 15k, and considering its stats (46/122/2.5) it doesn't seem worth that much. Can anyone shed some light?
That's better stats than my tangle :/ (unsliced).
Armor generally has vulnerability to stun damage. That is, if you attack someone with full composite with a tangler, they are effectively without armor.
You have to check armor vulnerability on mobs as well, same thing. Some AR2 mobs, for instance, with stun vulnerability, are nice candidates for getting hit with the tangler. Watch range...it's 48 though.
Does the stun damage do anything else, like i know blast damage has a radius effect, but does the stun damage add any stats hits on the enemy or something like that?
It is simply a damage type. Heat damage from an FWG5 does not start fires ...
The tangler is a deceint pistol when its called for.
Luckily with the current state of pistoleers we can hot key our pistols as most of our specials are random HAM worthless shots lol
ok dx2 does acid..wich many things do not have defense against.
tangle does stun..wich almost nothing has defense against
I'd like to know what Tangle Pistols are good for too.
In my opinion, Tangle Pistols are a complete joke. Even high quality, sliced ones cannot compete with the damage of a good FWG5 or DX2 Pistol.
The lower damage point is true , however , say you have some ancient reptilian flyers aggro you on Dathomir , now these guys are 100% resistent to heat and acid so your uber FWG5 and DX2...well you may as well just throw them at the things. This is where the stun of a Tangle or kinetic of a Striker come in to play. Even if its just for warning shots so you can get away these things are still very useful in my opinion.

Was fighting kimogilas on lok with a commando buddy. They're 100% resistant to flame, so he was using a launcher pistol. He was hitting for 'raw' damage of several hundred points, but all I saw was little -50, -70 numbers over the kimo's head. I pull out my sucky tangle pistol, and do fan shots, and I'm doing full damage. As a result, I got most of the xp for killing them. (The real damage was done to the kimos with bleeds).
And bleu, the high-end tangles on Bria have like 2.3 or 3.3 speed, and lower damage. Looks like you got some good resources there.
