Thread: Possible New gun types...

I have read quite often that some new pistols "may" be created. Personally, I would like to see a cold-based pistol (think Mr. Freeze, TAS style), another blast pistol (I know about Launcher Pistol, but Commando is not worth getting for just one more gun), and another kinetic gun. Any other guns people would like to see.

An armor piercing Heat based gun would be nice. We'd then have an AP energy, acid, and heat based weapon.

I'd like to see an electric gun... they sound soooo cool and the color of the blast is sweet! I'd also liek to see the DX2 get an overharul... increase damage and speed. Make it the uber gun its meant to be...



Another issue is why do we have the weakest weapons? I mean yes its a pistol... but we also have range limitations because of it... we could use atleast some more powerful guns that are AP2... I'm not asking for AP3 just AP2... something to make us decent without being a smuggler since I am *gasp* a Pistoleer/Creature Handler with alot of medic skill.

Firstly I'd like to seen the Tangle Pistol get an overhaul, that gun needs to be at least faster if not more powerful, or just change the schematic so it has a blaster handle so that we could a Krayt Tissue in them.


Secondly get the Republic Blaster working. That gun looks like it has the potential to be a great sidearm and would alleviate the need to fix the effectiveness of the SR Combat Pistol


As for new pistols, I was thinking along the line of some of you, I was sitting here asking myself about two hours ago where the E11 pistol is? It would be great to have an AR2 gun, but you have to realize that they'd probably give us a pretty slow pistol if it had AR2.


Anyways, I would like to see an AR2 Pistol, combining that with Heat Damage would be nice, or stun or even electricity. But that LLC is and having Electricity is what makes the BH unique, just like fire with for Commandos. We need somthing unique too, maybe an AR1 Stun Pistol would be best (Stun is the least resisted type of damage in armors if resisted at all, but I guess we'll see what the armorsmiths can do with layers now). Really couldn't care less about Kinetic and especially cold, I got it! how about a plasma based pistol?

I think that an AP2 pistol with heat or acid would be great, short range.. have it be around 12-15 for its sweet spot and high damage.. of course make it a bit slower but who cares, have a different pistol if you want speed. And make it for someone that goes all the way up the Marksmanship tree, that way not every tom, **edit**, and harry could have one.

I dont see a profession that the devs already think is overpowered cuase of the amnt of people that flock to it for its usefullness for not haveing that swoop camp send you to the cloner if you arent looking where you are going, getting a AP2 gun id personaly be happy with the fix for the republic blaster th have at least 2 decent AP1 guns.

I doubt we'll ever get an AP 2 gun. Carbineers will start whining because we'll have the AP ofLaser Carbine.


I'd be happy with more AP 1 weapons, better yet, just fix the Republic Blaster, and take a good look at the DX2. Maybe even increase the range of the SR Combat to 64m like all the others. Improve or fix what we already have before adding more stuff, which will probably be broken when they add it anyway.


Fix what we already got, and maybe add a Cold based pistol. I'd be happy with that.

AP2 ona pistol huh?



you wanna hold a 10 pound gun? Pistol's are close range wepons, the closer we get, the less chance we should have to miss, and the more damage we should do, but there are risk's we have health bleeds with body shot's and "GOOD" pistols out there, you guys wanna hold damage like a rifle in your hand, its not ment to work like that

AP2 on a pistol would be interesting, you could say it was some sort of tweaked out blaster or disruptor or something. Have very short range, other limitations.


However, the problem with throwing around AP2 ANYTHING for pistols is that it begins to infringe on the terroritry of riflemen, commandos, and heavy swordsmen.


You wouldn't really want an AP2 pistol to be a better melee weapon than a 2H curved swords. (well, I wouldnt' mind, but I don't think anyone else would want it)

You're totally right, we should not have the power of a rifle, with the kind of speed we have, I'm sure our DPS is right there with theirs anyways. It's just a nice thought, and if you actually look back at the movies, it's actually a reality. Princes Leah uses a "sporting blaster" to tear throuh a troopers armour, have a look:

Trooper armor is AR1 right? That sporting blaster must have AR2 to do that. It's also hopeful thinking, I just feel that most of the Master Pistoleers truly feel robbed that somone in another profession gets a better pistol.


I'm sure the Republic Blaster will be a great little weapon, looking forward to it, hopefully this gun will be the explanation to why the SR sucks so much. Get this little bad boy working, fix the pistoleers shots, and I say introduce one very nice pistol that only a Master Pistoleer could and would be proud to call their sidearm.

Yeah, maybe make the SR Combat pistol AR2. After all, it's already short ranged, so it's not as if it's really a gun most Pistoleers walk around equipped with anyway. Plus, it's supposed to be a "combat" pistol. A combat pistol should have a higher AR than any other pistol.
