Thread: Armour Advice
OK, so I'm a human Pistoleer.
My stats are "default" I took a look at the migration options but couldn't really see how that would help me - when I did make one minor change my stats didn't change after three hours staight, so not even sure if its working :-/
Anyway I have Marksman skills 0 4 0 4
Pretty poor Pistoleer Skills 0 2 0 0 (almost 1 on the end)
My FWG5 is only a 56 - 203, 2.0 but it was honestly the best I could find after a massive search around vendors.
White enemies are fine, I take some damage but I can fight back and usually kill.
Yellow's can give me some hassle and I'm pretty sure it's because of the armour situation I am in - I have none.
So, should I be investing in armour?
I see Composite armour which looks inpressive, but I've got a feeling that I'd regret the -240 from health for the body piece.
Any advice people can give?

How much do you know about armor? I'll pretend that your a newbie for now.
First off, Make sure that you can wear armor before you buy it. The -240 health doesn't take 240 health away, it takes off 240 to strength and constitution. The same goes for your -action and -mind, it only takes away secondaries.
Taking away secondaries isn't a bad thing. Secondaries are not there for battling(let me explain). Constitution won't do too much for you during a battle unless it is VERY high. Strength doesn't do as much as armor does in terms of damage prevention because it doesn't lessen the amount of damage that an enemy does to you, it makes it so that your specials do less harm to yourself.
Another thing to think about is the type of armor that you want to get. I find that the best PvE armor is a good set of Ubese because it costs less and still protects against most all of the damage that creatures and NPC's do (energy and kinetic). If you do go all out and get composite make sure that you write a macro that takes off your clothes and puts on your armor the first time you hit it, and takes off your armor and puts on your clothes the second time you hit it(it's less complicated than it sounds, honest). Doing this will let you take those first couple of shots before the creature figures out where the shot is coming from with your armor off, which will reduce the damage you do to yourself. Once he get's in close, you just hit the macro and your all armored up. After the battle you hit the macro again to remove your armor, to heal up quicker.
To sum up. I believe armor is TOTALLY worth it, but make sure you get the right type and use it correctly.
Hope that all made sense, cause I can't proof read this post ![]()
Thanks for bringing me up to speed on armour.
I'll do some experimenting tonight and see if I can stop taking such a beating!
