Thread: Fanshot Observation
First off, I'm 0-4-4-3 on the pistoleer tree. I've been using and enjoying the new fanshot... at least most of the time anyway. I've found that waiting until all the mobs in your cone become engaged in combat (usually a 2 or 3 second wait) cuts down on the aggros significantly.
What I want to ask is if anyone else is seeing the following happen during their combat:
Usually fanshot hits the creatures in the cone for between 500 and 1500 damage per shot as long as I'm using the appropriate weapon type. However, there are times when I'll get get a series of fanshots off that land for between 4,000 to 6,000 points per creature in the cone per shot for several shots in a row. Needless to say, when this happens the creatures wilt pretty fast. I haven't noticed if this coincides with state changes of the creatures (or targeted creature) or whatnot. Perhaps it is due to a creature taking a negative modifier that accentuates the damage, but since it affects all the creatures in the cone, I've been reluctant to consider that. Unless the state is counted for all creatures in the cone, this can't explain it.
Has anyone else seen this with fanshot? If there is a valid cause for this, I want to identify it and take better advantage of it. If it is an error, at least pointing it out may help get it fixed.
