Thread: State Defenses Emergency!
Fellow Pistoleers,
This is such a serious problem I don't know why it isn't getting any attention. Whatever they did to make the state defenses work, for me has had the exact opposite effect. Anyone else?!
Every single fight I get into since the patch, I will be hit with a state attack in PvE. This didn't happen with nearly the frequency as is happening now. Every fight, from red cons to white cons, they are all getting their dizzy, blind, intimidate and stun attacks through.
If I am not the only one who has noticed this, please lets get the volume on this problem turned up high. I don't know how to inform the dev's with the excpetion of the correspondant, a ticket, orpublic awareness. I know it's mostly a PvE problem but it's a huge one for us!
While i DO agree that Knockdown (KD) had to be nerfed in order to make pvp remotely fun for everyone...the Devs did NOT have to nerf the hell out of KD in PvE!!
Forgodsakes, leave PvE ALONE please. That was hardly an issue for KD!
Knocking down a mob for 5 seconds (less it seems) and then waiting 30 seconds to use the knockdown AGAIN? Useless.The Devs may as well have justREMOVEDKD from the gamealtogether.
With the raised cost to use knockdown, i thought that was quite fair enough.
These kinds of nerfs are completely out of hand. Can someone remind me why wepay a monthly fee? Ah, yes... now i remember. Tohave everything we have worked to enjoy NERFED until there is nothing enjoyable left.
SOE, nerf by nerf,you guys are just NOT making this game fun to play.
Instead of NERFING things that weren't a problem (KD in PvE). Why don't you work on REAL FIXES. For example, making our special moves DO something special. ANY of them!
None of them work.
-Give us some state changes!
-Make bodyshot 3 do massive health dmg!
-Make multi-target pistol do HEALTH damage to MULTIPLE targets!
-Make disarming shot1 DISARM humans and npc's! Make disarming shot2 do the same on MULTIPLEtargets!
-Make pistol melee defense2 KNOCKDOWN with more dmg and longer knockdown duration (you hit them harder, they should stay down longer)!
-Eliminate the poink blank line cuz it clearly does nothing at all!
If the current state of master pistoleers is working as intended, then please tell me so i can cancel my account.
Heck, special moves don't even LOOK different. Everyone'sanimations for specialslook the sameas boring basic attacks, actually. (iexpected doubletap to have a flick of the wrist, and fanshot to be aiming the gun in crazy fastmultiple angles in one turn). Pistolwhip was the one mildly amusing special for us pistoleers to use.... and now KD has been nerfed so there is no point in using it.
Why are our special moves SPECIAL? Ahh yes, they're broken, and boring to watch.

One more thing:
Stopping Shot should be a ranged knockdown.
That is the definition of a stopping shot.
And with an even higher damage multiplier at a higherHAM cost to use.
And it should animate with a wider stance and concentrated aim like your life depends on it!

While I appreciate your suggestions (and agree with most) I'm hoping this post doesn't turn into another larger issue 'we have problems' thread and addresses one specifically the developers have acknowledged as a problem.
STATE DEFENSE DO NOT WORK AND WHAT YOU DID HAS MADE IT WORSE...NOT BETTER!
Let's attack one problem at a time..please developers, correspondant. State defense, which according the the patch notes is supposed to be operational, is not. This is a show stopper. When every animal can stun you, you are a master of nothing.

Have you heard anything about this, or perhaps witnessed a similar increase in effective state attacks?
i read somewhere that the state defenses were turned off during beta because people could get too powerful by getting multiple professions and stacking the defenses. and they just never got turned back on.
i think this is stupid because if u do that it would also limit your other abilities so while your defense might be really good you wouldn't have enough skill points to have access to more powerful attacks so it balances out.
i think that if someone goes through the trouble of getting the branches with state defenses in multiple branches and endd up with +90 against knockdown then they should be practically unknockdownable
