Not a bad idea at all.

So either:

Add a new special, like Acid Shot and Acid Cone (one single target, one multi target)

Or

Add an effect onto a high level ability (BS3, SS, FS, and should also be on the AE Multi-Target Pistol Shot given at master) that does its regular damage, plus adds an acid DOT.

The main problem I see is that actions are not limited by the weapon you use, and doing an acid special / acid dot with anything other than a DX2 would make not sense.

But then again... a Bounty Hunter can set you on fire using an Acid Pistol, so maybe making sense doesn't matter.

Thats exactly what I was thinking with the bounty hunter, since we have Dx2 pistol we could get an acid attack, but can use any pistol seeing BH can set people on fire!

A lot of what you posted was in the "5 issues" recently submitted to the devs by the pistoleer correspondant. I wholeheartedly aggre that some simple fixes and minor add ons will make the class much more fun and balanced.

I believe us pistoleers should get a new attack similiar to BH's Torso shot where we can deal high amount of damage and create major wounds. Since our pistol is a Dx2, we should call it an acid shot or something. Mabye even have two of them, and replace the useless Point single area or whatever attacks so pistoleer will be more usefull. Add that, with fixing Bodyshot 3 to make it more powerful, and some how fixing disarming shot and adding stun effect to Stopping shot, Pistoleer might not be that bad of a Profession. The thing that makes me angry is Bounty Hunters are better than Pistoleer in 14 pistol skillpoints compared to our whole Discipline, as well as them being able to pwn Master Carbineers. I dont care they need Master Scout and Marksman, they get plenty already besides the ridiculousy powerful pistol/carbine attacks. But, let me know what you think about the Acid Shot that cause high damage with wounds like Torso shot in Bh!!!
