Don't want to over do it, is there a point where more acc is overkill?

You can get pistol speed over 100 if you really want, but at 100 every attack or special you do is at 1 shot every 1 second, which is as fast as the game will let shots be spaced out at. Though with 98 pistol speed using a decently fast weapon and stopping shot or fan shot I've also been shooting at max speed, so in the end 100 is definitely the cap. I'd hope accuracy doesn't cap at 100 because I have 115 and I still miss often enough while standing still or even kneeling at only medium range.

You can have a speed skill that goes over 100, but anything over about 90 is wasted. At 90 even a slow 2.5 speed pistol using our slowest attack (Stopping Shot - 4x delay) fires once a second.

But while speed seems to be purely a product: A * B * C = speed (where A is your pistol, B is your special attack's delay multiplier and C is your pistol speed modifier),

Accuracy seems to be purely additive, with a lot of terms added together:

Base weapon accuracy skill from marksmanship (ranged support line) +
Appropriate weapon accuracy skill (pistol / rifle / etc...) +
Weapon accuracy based on range +
Stance modifier (if you're kneeling or prone) +
Target's stand modifier (a penalty if target is kneeling or prone) +
Movement modifier (penalty if you're moving) +
Target movement modifier (penalty if target is moving) +
Special accuracy modifier (accuracy while moving or accuracy while standing skills)

Hmm, I think that's it.

Add it all together and make a roll against it to determine a hit or miss.

Of significant interest here is the fact that, unlike in other games, the difficulty of your target does not come into play. You are just as likely to hit the newbie trash around the star port as you are to hit a Krayt, Kimogila, or Nightsister, you just tend to hit for much less because they have armor and resists.
