Thread: OFFICIAL Dual Wielding Pistoleers
In this thread some issues should be asked an addressed such as:
1. In what part of the skill tree should the certification be placed?
2. If the certification is on a lower part of the tree or even novice, should there be a "skill" so that your damage/accuracy raises visibly as you get more skills or should it be based on your current pistol skill?
3. What should the damage be like when dual-wielding? Do we want everyone and their 3rd brother dual-wielding (make dual-wield far outdamage single hand) or should dual-wielding offer certain advantages and give new advantages or make certain specials single-hand only?
4. What will disarm shot do to someone with 2 pistols?
5. What is the first novel that an infinite number of pink monkeys placed in a room with an infinite number of word processors put out?
Place under the master title: Max 50% accuracy in offhand, 75% dmg offhand
Remove disarm 2 to a different slot or remove it period and place dual wield in its place
Yeah, dual wielding would have to be a master pistoleer skill. I don't think it should be uber uber powerful, and only certain skills could be used with it. Things like pistol whip could not, but things like fanshot could. Furthermore, i think dual wielding should have significant accuracy decreases. It shouldn't be like your missing every time, but perhaps a 25% accuracy descrease would be in order. Also, they should consider making only certain pistol's dual wieldable.
Sadly though, i doubt we'll ever see this implimented as there are too many things that are broken in the game for an addition like this to ever be worked on. The devs need to finish fixing/balancing everything first before they add in cool new stuff like this. I'd much prefer having body shot 3 do more damage then body shot 2, or having either of our disarming shots do ANYTHING, or having Pistol whip 2 be more useful then pistol whip1, and a million other things.
It would be a very nice skill if with duel pistols you could target 2 enemies at once.
You could also make more skills branching from this. Like a accuracy increase for the offhand.
I really would like duel pistols , espically if i'm a master pistoleer.
and the end of the day , you have to balance an increase in firepower, with a balance for what it's worth to have that firepower. Having two pistols shoun't automatically give you more damage, to the point that using one pistol is pointless. There should be another reason to use them, like hitting two targets at once, but with less accuracy.
If you have two pistols, you either have to up the max effectiveness of a pistoleer to make the two pistol option worthwhile compared to other skills you have below it, or lower the effectiveness of other skills the pistoleer has, otherwise you'll get nasty skill inflation. You can alsogive the duel pistol skill some other benifit that does not involve damage over time.
its going to be very very tricky to make duel pistols work, without ruining the balance. In the end it might simply not be possible to include them without making pistoleer more powerful. And thats not really fair to the other classes.
It's people like you that give people like Holo the license to nerf a class that didn't need nerfing.

I want out shots fixed first, our defenses second and then maybe some new pistols.
I could give less then a rats ass about duel weapons.
I think dual wielded pistols would be great.
However, when requests like this are made it gives the impression that the rest of the class is working fine. This is not the case. Our attacks need fixing.
Asking for animations of twirling guns doesn't help get the class fixed. It makes the devs think that the class is working perfectly.

Wasn't it in the Designer responses that it did say they will add Dual Pistols down the line? I guess first they just need to make us nice and broken, so people aren't overly upset when they give us a new ability.
I have already said before, I think Dual Weilding should come at Pistol Special Abilities 4.
Each gun should fire slightly slower, like speed x 1.25 or something, and you should get an accuracy penalty (-20) on both guns. If you use a special the offhand weapon will skip a round of firing. So basically you only get benifits of dual weilding when using normal fire.
Multitargetpistolshot (given at master) should be made a dual weild mode of fighting. Take on two targets with two different guns. Their targeting system works perfectly to set something like this up. Select your first target and hit your /multitarget key the first gun with fire at that target, select your second target and hit /multitarget and your second gun will fire at that target same speed penalties apply, and now you get (-30) accuracy. You can use specials in this mode, when you select a special it will fire on the next gun that fires. As a penalty none of your defenses will work (hahaha) when using Multitarget mode.
The other option is when the phantom elite/elite classes arrive to give dual weilding its own proffesion. I'd like to see a more melee driven pistol proffesion with dual wielding at its core. The requirements might be something like Unarmed 4 and Master Pistoleer. Of course this other option will defintely never happen.
I agree with those who replied.
Let's get our profession FIXED before asking for dual wield and twirly moves. Asking for those now is a horrible strategy.
