1) pistoleers are "skyrocketing." There is no way the devs are going to spend their time and attention into a profession that is "skyrocketing." Aside from CH (which is pretty functional), pistoleer will be the last profession to get fixed simply because people play them.

2) the delay equation kills the pistoleer. With enough skill enhancers, no one has it worse off than us. This equation is something that will either never change, or will not be touched until every profession + pvp is balanced (ie. 1 year or more).

3) most if not all ranged combat professions are better off than us. Every combat profession has either higher AR weapons or state change effects or better styles (or all of the above). What does the pistoleer have? defenses that dont work even after they have been "fixed." KD resist, ranged resist, dizzy resist, nothing works. Dodge was made better, and its still pretty useless.

So because of this, i decided to stop the faith and just move on to greener pastures. Sorry for the people that actually have faith that all this crap is going to get fixed soon. It wont. I might as well get started into something else now than to hang onto things that will be gimp for a really long time. I've been a pistoleer for 4 months (was one all throughout beta), but i know how this company and MMOs in general work well enough to understand what's coming for pistoleers and what isnt, and it just doesn't look good for a really long time.

Let the surrendering begging.

BH get a style called Eye Shot, Pistoleers get a title called Dead-Eye. You figure out the rest.

DarthPaul, your answer shows that your a stupid bloody n00b, i wonder why such a n00b isnt playing the game and learn instead of comming to here and saying such a trash.

How can u say that a Master can kill people in 3 shots ? does the other have armor , or does he use no armor ? Is he a good Medic ? You got absolutely no clue darthPaul, and your name "DarthPaul" is a joke like the comment you gave here..

darthPaul, if you can killothers with 3 shots, why dont you just shut up and play and have fun ?

i wonder where all those stupid fools are comming from that give such idiotic and senseless answers.

I have to second Su1tar's opinion. I dropped Master and an entire tree out of pistoleer so that I can better allocate them to something useful. The two master pistol skills are all but completely useless, and quite frankly, I can routinely do just as much damage to unarmored targets with a laser carbine and fullauto1, plus get the occassional state effect, for little more than twice the action cost of fanshot, AND it's an AP2 weapon.

Pistoleers were working but borderline before the uber-nerf. Yes, disarm2 was overpowered...now it's useless. Multitarget shot, always iffy, is now completely borked (I think it's worked twice for me since the patch). Defensive bonuses are screwy (if they're working at all). And to top it all off, NPC are throwing specials like friggin crazy now! I got hit by a Mauler Master with a -fanshot- for over 1200 (Mauler's are heavy aggro, in case you've never met one), and this was less than 500m outside Moenia. And since NPC's don't suffer from limited action pools, they can just toss these out ALL day.

It's quite obvious that the devs place no importance on you mastering a profession, so why bother. I just hope I have the points to keep master ranger.

I agree with you, but I am sticking it out, not because I have faith. But because I put all my effort into pistol from day one and don't have the time to grind a new proffession. I work, have a girlfriend, and in game am helping run a PA which is fun, but keeps me busy. I am starting to know how Weaponsmiths felt in the first few weeks. It's a tell hell, and I have to go help guildmates when they need it, so I really don't have the luxury of giving up. I wish you all the best. And may your new job not get nerfed to the depths of hades.

So I guess they nerfed sigs too?

deadnewbie, shaddup and go back to BH boards =)

I thought about hanging tough with master for a while, but I have not been impressed with the number of positive changes from the devs. Commandos got one...rangers got a couple nice ones...any others? With the current cost of state change attacks, fixing the KD bug would have fixed all these issues and kept KD from being such a dominant issue. Powerful, as it should have been as a master level skill, but not overwhelmingly so.

Pistoleer as it is today, is not worth the skill points it costs to master. Grab the bonuses and move on like everyone else, since the cookie-cutter PvP template seems to be the only thing anyone is interested in anyway.

Why? I'm a pistoleer. A good FWG5 and a pistol whip/stopping shot will floor most opponents.

You must have a really REALLY nice FWG5 then. What is it? 300-400, 2.0 delay? Cause there is no way in hell you are gonna kill someone with 3 stopping shots.

69-380 1.8. I don't use 3 stopping shots. I go for pistol whip with a stopping shot follow up. The highest I've seen with stopping shot is 950 damage in PvP. Added in with the pistol whip it's a 2 shot kill combo.

rofl. 950 AFTER the 75% reduction? We playing the same profession or what? I am 99% sure you cant hit 950 with a 380dmg max weapon after the 75% reduction. That would mean your gun did 3800 dmg WITHOUT the reduction, ie. 10x max weapon dmg. Im not even gonna look it up, but do you honestly believe that stopping shot has a 10x modifier on weapon dmg?

Stop trying to blow smoke up people's ass. You are only making yourself look foolish.
