Thread: Proffesion Feedback Please...

I posted a template a few weeks back and got some good feedback, I was only going to master pistoleer and then add some medic skills and go up the smuggler pistol tree. I added medic and started grinding it, and I actually really like the medic profession. It works, is relativly easy to level in, and it has useful practical abilities that pistoleer just doesn't have.

I am still shooting for master pistoleer though (nerf's be damned) but wanted to know if anyone had any comments on either Mastering Doctor or Mastering Combat Medic. I think combat medic would be cool, I have read up on it, but it's useless in PVE I hear, and I LOATHE PVP (although it might be fun to grief pvp'ers. Yes, I said it.). Is Doctor worth anything? Is there another profession that combines the medic with a pistol?

Well... from my experience, Doctor is very powerful because of the buffs they can give to your stats. Combat Medic is lots more convenient for healing large groups (ranged and AOE stims) and are good for largescale PvP.

The Doctor buffs are good forPvP too though, and they can try to cure poisons thrown by combat medics.

So,they are powerful and useful in PvP and PvM both. I'd say Doctor seems more like your style than CM; the poisons and diseases in CM are a pain to craft and most people don't use them outside PvP - so unless you want to use poison in PvM you'd be missing out ona lot ofthe CM content

According to a post on the Doctor forum, you need to go 2/2/4/0 if you just want to use the buffs.

I was not able to easily find the same info for Combat Medics and the diseases. I can look at the skill tree when I get in game, and / or ask some combat medic guild members.

Im going for Pistoleer/Doctor, but in my experience in grouping with them, CM is better for Group combat, whether it be PvP or PvE.

Smuggler's Dirty Tricks line took a mega hit in the last patch. I've dropped it from my template...

As for healing skills - I think a dabbler approach would be best:

- From Doctor you want the ability to apply buffs.

- From Combat medic you want the ability to use AE Diseases.

I don't know how to translate those to specific templates (4/0/4/0 - or whatever).

I am a Master Doc and I will say that between the buffs and bein able to oneshot heal most wounds and damage it has proved to be very usefull.

Mind you it sucks up alot skill points to master.

Doc craft is a mean grind. long and click filled. buy a grindin mouse, you will prolly wear at least one out.

I would STRONGLY suggest talking with a Combat Medic before pursuing it..... The materials required to make the different healing equipment is very rare and expensive. Currently, I could name off around 7-8 'Retired CM's' on Naritus that have since picked up Doctor.

Also the buffs from a Master Doctor are unreal!

I wish I could give some more info, but I only know what these Docs have told me......

I am thinking Doctor now that I have read these boards. Although I really want an answer for PVP, I thought CM would do that. The only problem I have is that I will not be gathering my own resources, nor will I be able to place a vendor to sell stuff. Do Doc's make okay coin? Doesn't really matter too much, as far as resources go, I am in a fairly supportive and solid PA so I got support.

bah i am a master pistoleer and i have mastered doctor and combat medic and gave them both up. becuase doctor all you do is heal. if you like healing them go for it. if you want enhancements just pay a doctor to enhance all yourstats most doctors would be shocked if you asked them to enhance you for money becuase of all the rude people and enhances last for like 2 hours or until deathas far as healing damage you can one shot heal your self with pharm 4 and med crafting 4 with stim c's or just buy them from a doctor and just get pharm 4(much easier thank getting resources 15 skill points in artisan to survey). and resurection packs woohoo i cantrevive myself but i can revive joe smoe for no thank you.now combat medic poisons are great if you attack the mind with them, a poison c will incap anyone if its aimed at the mind, but it only seemsto stick about 1/5 times and there is a 15 second wait before you can apply another one so its only gets yourself killed unlessit stick which is a gamble.and again if you like healing other people without even a thank you go for the area healing you can heal from like 40 meters away. when i was a mastered combat medic everything was bugged so my opions are biased. combat medics poison is going to be nerfed soon anywaysand you know how hard the nerf bat swings. unles you buy all your med supplies any medic line sucks becuase you have to have novice artisan to get your materials or pay 15 - 25 credits per unit to get them.

so if i was you unless you like alot of downtime i would just get pharm 4 and buy yourself some stim c's and spend you points somewhere else

Come to think of it, if you're hanging out with other pistoleers, the resurrect ability might get used a lot.
