It's all his fault. I was reading through Jaegen's post about how we've been mostly cured with Random HAM attacks. And the line floated up at me from the depths of memory.
"This is your father's lightsaber. Not as clumsy or RANDOM as a blaster..."
Might this be the basis for these random HAM costs? The condescending and biased opinion of a has been jedi master who lost his padawan to the dark side? EVERYTHING is clumsy and random to a jedi when you compare it to the mighty saber. At least til there's 20 of us ganging up on the guy and shooting him from all directions.
In any case... I'm thinking that comment is what may be the basis for what they've chosen as the damage we do. Random damage from a 'random' weapon. Nevermind that the Teepo Paladins were Jedi accurate with pistols in their hands. Feh! I'm glad Ben's dead. I'm sorry I can't hunt his dead butt down and kill him all over again.
