I am a former pistoleer, yes former since i have since switched professions due to the class being horribly underpowered compared to others. As I look back nerfing pistoleers does make sense. Here are my reasons.

1. As holo pointed out there are more "aspiring" pistoleers than about every class out there

2. After nerfing pistoleers back to the stone age, a pistoleer can now switch to any combat profession and feel like a god.

3. Since all these former pistoleers are now feeling good about their uber marksman powers with other weapons (which btw i do better consistant damage with Carbines 3 and leg shot than i did with fan shot and a fwg5 with 243 max dmg, speed will come later).

4. majority player base satisfied with their new professions for another month or two till they starting seeing the problems with their new prof.

5. then holo can rinse and repeat, choosing the next most populace combat prof and nerfing it into the stone age, then the will give pistoleersto all pistols and add some wicked damage mods on specials (10k damage hits) making them playable again. Hence a see saw effect with the devs never required to really fix anything.

Here is what i am proposing. Much like in UO they created Trammel to protect people from non-concentual pvp I say the devs choose 1 combat profession, 1 support profession, and 1 merchant profession then they promise (a keep this promise mind you) not to "fix" these professions, that they will remain in their semi-broken state indefinitly. Then At least the player base will be able to make at least 1 character on another server that will be free from fixs that completely render their characters useless. I personally am tired of the devs fixing something that totally breaks 10 other things. It is like these guys are programming out of the "Idiots guide to creating an MMORPG" and we all know how useful those books are are.

So the nerfing of the pistoleer does make a kind of sick sense when you really think about it in terms in stringing along the largest amount of the player base with the least amount of actual work or thought. The sad thing is this works, Hell i am still here. But I do promise this if they nerf me again I am leaving and not looking back.
