Pistoleer Archive
Thread: HOLOCRON WROTE....
----------------------------------------------------
We noticed in our weekly game metrics analysis meeting that the number of novice pistoleers in the gamehas skyrocketed from the last time we did a novice skills analysis (we don't do those every week). Now, we're not talking about Master Pistoleers here--those remain in line with what we'd expect. It's people who have the Novice Pistoleer box.
When I say skyrocketed, I mean "fastest growing profession" by a lot, plus also "most popular advanced profession."

Like any statistic, unless you look at the bigger picture, you're information is invalid. The most probable reason for this increase, if in fact there is such a drastic one that the player community hasn't noticed, is the fact that Bounty Hunters and other professions are supplementing their already - too-powerful- attacks with pistoleer skills as backup. I know very very few BH's who don't have at least novice pistoleer.
You would do well to indicated which classes have shown the greatest increase in Mastery's of that class. We're not interested in Novice Pistoleer statistics... they're easy to attain and cost 6 skill points like any other Elite profession. I'd be interested in seeing what classes people seem to be mastering the most. That kind of information would prove much more useful.
To tell us, for example, that there are a lot of novice creature handlers would be like telling us blasters kill people. Many people are taking additional (Uber Professions) to supplement their chosen profession because their chosen profession (Pistoleer for example) is hardly sufficient to compete with pvp and pve in some cases. I myself would be included in your novice CH stats but I hardly consider myself a CH... it's just a means to and end so that I can solo a LOT better with challenge level 25 pets... but I hardly consider myself a CH, just one of the many trying to survive in an unbalanced universe.
Furthermore, I make use of additional elite professions, in order to earn exp at a reasonable level. I have a couple good friends that are a BH and Commando respectively and I cannot; regardless of how hard I try, maintain any kind of reasonable xp when grouping with them. It's impossible... I'm helping to power-level them to Master (and we're all very close to master...about the same in our respective professions) by being another target for mobs.
So provide us with some 'useful' statistics if you're going to do so. And provide us with more than 'your findings'.... in today's modern age of cut&paste I think you could show us the analysis and let us make our own conclusions. We're intereted in drawing our own conclusions based on the data...
