Thread: What's the story with STOPPING SHOT

I just got stopping shot for pistol recently. I figured that it would do some good DMG to the MOBSI was facing. However, I don't see great DMG being done with this move. More often than not I see more DMG being done with my regular attack than with STOPPING SHOT. On the other hand, I can one shot kill babies and other low CL critters. WOW, was this what I was working toward.


When I see the other two gun professions with 4k DMG and 2k dmag to MOBS was I expecting too much?

In terms of damage output Stopping Shot is the highest damage Pistoleer attack (usually 1.2k-1.5k for me), however the delay is so slow that it does terribly low DPS, its really only useful if you can one or two shot something with it. Use to be good for PvP before the 75% damage reduction. Now it really doesn't serve much purpose at all.

I noticed this to, I got the shot yesterday and my hits arent that impressive and like someone else said the downtime in between shots is ridiculous.


Is fan shot anybetter?

Try Fan Shot. It's about 90% as much damage with 30% of the delay. Random Ham pool still sucks, but what you gonna do. It's at least 2x if not closer to 3x the raw DPS of BS2. So hope you get a lucky run and hit the same pool 3/4 of the time, which is not THAT uncommon,for health pool at least.

  • Stopping Shot = 5x damage, 4x delay = 1.25x DPS

  • Fan Shot = 4x damage, 2.5x delay = 1.6x DPS

  • BS3 = 2.5x damage, 2.5x delay = 1x DPS (no increase in damage over regular attacks, but targets a specific pool).



Basically these are all BROKEN. Skills from Marksman are BETTER.


  • Roll Shot = 2.5x damage, 1.5x delay = 1.67x DPS

  • BS2 = 2x damage, 1.8x delay = 1.11x DPS (Health pool targetted)

Stopping shot has a high multiplier, but it's still vulnerable to the natural range of damage your weapon can do.


And have you taken a look at the MIN damage on your pistol lately? It's not too good
