while im siting here soloign piket's i notced somethign odd.. in the cmbat it says im doign 100-600 dmg with my pistols, and the numbers above the mobs head are onely 10-60.. so how much dmg am i doign 100-600 or 10-50?

You are doing the number over the mobs head. The number in the combat window is your potential damage before any of the target's characteristics are taken into account. Resists will lower your damage. Armor will raise or lower your damage when compared to your armor piercing. Target's posture can raise the damage.

The numbers in the combat window are actually not very useful. More than once I've been on raids on Endor where people used FWG5s on Bordoks and got zero experience despite seeing tons of damage dealt via the combat window. Bordoks are 100% immune to heat, and the combat window will never tell you that...
