Same recommendation. I find that the Marksman Ranged Support is far to valuable for PvE and PvP to ever give up. However, you can if you find the need to.

You can surrender items from the Marksman ranged abilities line without hurting anything else that uses combat exp (BH or Pistoleer special abilities line).

Unlike the other posters here, I think it's a fine idea. Since the base professions scale up on skill costs (2, 3, 4, 5) instead of the other way around like elite professions do, you could free up a relatively large number of points - 5 or 9, for only giving up a skill block or two. And since they nerfed Posture Down, it's not very useful. So as long a you hold on to Threaten Shot for pve, you should be fine.

Might be a dumb question, but I'm not sure.....I have INT Spec abilities I trained right now ( pistoleer), but need to free up some points soon. Question is, i feel I can untrain the Ranged support specialist skill ( marksmen)( i never use stopping shot anyways ), but since it uses combat exp, is it linked to the above pistol skill which also uses combat exp??

So in essence, is the Ranged weapon support line needed for any pistoller skills?

If I understand your question. The answer is no you do not need any thing from the Marksman tree to be a Pistoleer except the Pistol branch. You can drop all 4 of the Ranged Weapon Support blocks and still be a Pistoleer.

I would not reccoment it but you can do it.
