Hi Pistoleers

I ve decided to go down the marksman/medic/scout route.

I have ignored rifle & carbine & concentrated solely on pistols only. Only been playing a short time but very nearly on lvl 4.

My fellow Guild members reckon I should have at least a long range skill. They are probably right but so far I haven't needed this.

Very soon I will be training as a pistoleer so if there is any1 on eclipse who can train me im all yours.

Id appreciate any tips / advice on pistoleering. E.g whats the best type of lvl 4 pistol, is there such a thing as the Ultimate Pistol?

Thanks, Plasma

There's not really a best pistol as different types do different damage and as you take on the harder MOB's in the game you need to examine them and see what armor they have and what they resist. You really should have a varity of the best pistols that do different types of damage.

I have a Scout Blaster for Energy, an FWG5 for Heat, a DX2 for Acid. They are all sliced and with Max Damage power-up's average around 280 damage. Using Stopping Shot I average around 1100 damage per shot and have hit as high as 2700 a few times.

Long range has never been a problem as long as you know your capabilities, what you are going up against and use the appropriate tactics.

OK so different pistols do different damage...but if Im shooting at some bad wookies for e.g. how do I know what pistol would be most effective.

How do you know when to use the acid pistol compared to a heat pistol.....

Im still considering training in rifles as you could possibly get a few shots off first. The only disadvantage would be I want to reach the high levels of pistoleering first...decisions decisions

If you are talking PvP there is no way to check another player as far as I know. If you are fight NPC's and creatures use "Examine" from the radial menu and it should tell you the armor raiting and what it has for resistance's to different types of weapon's damage.
