i have two scout blasters with virtually the same damage per second ( one of them has a much higher average damage and the other has a much faster speed). since eveyone almost exclusively uses special moves in combat (which have a negative effect on one of the ham bars) aren't i better off using the scoutblaster with the higher average damage because i will use fewer special moves to finish of my opponent. if this is indeed the case should i always use powerups that increase damage rather then powerups that improve speed.

I would say yes, and yes.

You don't worry about the speed cap as much with a higher damage vs higher speed pistol.

You take better advantage of front loaded damage (first shot is "free" (delayless)).

You burn less HAM.

I guess you could also throw in that you wear your pistol out more slowly, but that hasn't been much of a concern for me at least.

You want to get on with finding an FWG5 and keep a scout blaster to deal energy damage and use the FWG5 to deal heat damage. Then you can get a little variety! Maybe even start hunting for a Power5 with some good mods for energy damage.

I stand by going for the most damage.. higher damage all the time on my pistols. As a pistoleer.. you are going to be shooting rather quickly regardless of 1 second differene in speed on your pistol. You want to do more damage and fast to your opponents.. or you will be facing the ground rather quickly
