read the subject line please. just looking cause im changing professions from a suck ass rifleman.

Best pistol is situational. All Pistoleers should have:

FWG5 (heat)
DX2 (acid, AP1)
Scout (energy)
Tangle (stun)


Most of the rest suck (actually Tangles and DX2s are pretty poor as well, but we have to use them in many situations), but if they're ever fixed, SR Combat (energy, AP1) and Striker (Kinetic) would be decent additions.

Tangle? When the heck to you use the Tangle that you feel it's the best pistol for the situation?

I thought the Tangle was pathetic. Mind you I bought it a few weeks ago.

Tangle pistol does stun damage which is the absolute least resisted type of damage in the game. You should use this gun against armored targets that have stun vulnerability, and even with the pathetic stats on the tangle you will still do much more damage than any other weapon. Look at the damage number over the heads of the mobs and not what you see in your combat spam window. The combat window doesnot show the real damage that the mob takes, only shows the base damage before armor and resistances of the mob are applied.

The DX2 does acid damage which is probably the 2nd least resisted type of damage in the game. And even though the stats on most DX2's are subpar to FWG5's, the DX2 will be far superior against armored acid vulnerable targets.
