I just picked up pistoleer and am only able to get one full colomn. Just wondering if any of you out there can help me out. Oh and im just interested in PvE,if that helps. So far I have been looking at colomn 3 and 4. But i have no clue whether to get a speed boost so I can successfully target health faster with bodyshot2 or get the special moves colomn which do lots of dmg but dont target specific HAM bars (sorry forgot the colomns names =/). Thanks!

right now I am currently working on the tree with disarm shot, double tap shot, fan shot, stopping shot

because each special attack is awsome look at the discription of each. after that I will be working on my marksman tree

I have both trees....get the speed tree... skip the other tree.

Fan shot is nice, stopping shot sucks...and the bottom 2 aren't even worth mentioning.

Use your 2 bleeding attacks and body shot 2 with your speed boosts you get from the right colum.

You also get a melee range knockdown you can use once every 30 seconds.

i recommend the 3rd column forget the new name. gives you a few nice defenses and really good specials

if you end with enough get melee defense 1, pistol whip 1 kd's still nice even though kd got nerfed in patch 2.

(melee defense people what we use when we are getting messed up why did the devs have to go and nerf this one)

Hrm so I guess the speed increase + knockdown and some melee defense thrown in out weighs the random HAM specials in the tactics colomn. But how much of an increase in time would just that line give me? targeting one bar would also be key, to bad SS or Fan shot aren't Ham specific. I looked over an old post for the pistol correspondent but couldn't figure out the time benefits vs dmg.

The various tree levels will net you the following DPS increase:

Novice Marksman - 5.3%
Pistol I - 11.1%
Pistol II - 17.6%
Pistol III - 25%
Pistol IV - 33.3%
Novice Pistoleer - 42.9%
Stances I - 56.3%
Stances II - 72.4%
Stances III - 92.3%
Stances IV - 117.4%
Master Pistoleer - 284.6%

Cool, Thanks for the info Zerona. Looks like I will be able to get up the last box in stances. Which should provide enough DPS increase + knockdown and some melee D thrown in to be better is my case. Unless im missing something.

Thanks you to everyone who replied. =]

I didn't some more math reseach and used the correspondants numbers to compare which line would yeild more dmg (random ham).

Techniques line: Fan Shot yeilded a total average dmg of 933 in 30 seconds. ( assuming average dmg on this imaginary weapon was 156.8 per shot and witha speed of 30)

Stances line: BodyShot2 yeilded a total average dmg of 972.5 in 30 seconds. ( assuming each hit did 80.4 dmg with a speed of 54)

I know these dmg estimates are low but since both were using the same gun base dmg that should not matter in the final percentages. It looks like the increase in speed out damages the techinques line based on a max of 54 pistol speed ( which I will be limited to, since I am only getting one line.) and it also targets ham specific. Look like a clear cut choice.
