Thread: Stopping Shot v.s. Last Ditch
well, i just picked up stopping shot....if last ditch is anything like it..they both are terrible ![]()

Based on what I've read, Last Ditch has a 4.0 delay modifier, a 6.0 damage modifier, and it has a chance to stun the target. StoppingShot hasa 4.0 delay as well, but only a 4.7 damage modifier. So Last Ditch is always the better attack of the two -- it spits out 27.66 percent more damage than Stopping and has the same delay. Plus it stuns, which is helpful.
FanShot is better than both of them at your level (+48 pistol speed), so use Last Ditch to stun and then switch to FanShot, once you have it. At Master Pistoleer, Last Ditch becomes slightly better than FanShot in terms of damage even discounting the stun effect.
Of course all of these shots have a lower damage per second than Kip Up Shot in Marksman. ![]()
I'm not sure stun does anything meaningful... yet. Just use fanshot until you get master pistol. Then you can toy around and see if you want to spam last ditch, it is a really nice attack ![]()
Master Pistoleer + Expert Bounty Hunter = obscene power, obscene skill point sink
Master Pistoleer + Master Marksman + Rogue = terrific power, big skill point sink
Master Pistoleer + Rogue = great power, great skill point sink
Master Pistoleer + Master Marksman = good power, great skill point sink
Master Pistoleer = power, minimal skill point sink
Unfortunately, the skill point differential between the expert bh and the mastermarksman/rogue pistoleer templates are not in line with the actual power granted.
If you are able and willing to spend the points on master scout, the expert bounty hunter template is supreme.
Honestly, 1.0s Torso Shot combined with doc buffs = deadly in PvE. Switch that with Eyeshot and you are just as powerful in PvP.
The dirty fighting specials are also unique and powerful but due to a lack of stacking skill modifiers you won't be as fast or as accurate as the bounty hunter. You will however get last ditch assault, panic shot, and the true gem of the dirty fighting line: feign death.

Last Ditch is the attack you see used on you before you get incapped.
But seriously, Last Ditch is the special attack given to Smugglers in Dirty Fighting. In terms of raw damage, it is the single highest damaging pistol attack anyone can make. With the right pistol, it is entirely possible to 1 shotan unarmored opponent with Last Ditch. I hit for around 300-900 in PvP against standing targets with a 350 max damage FWG5.
With Master Pistoleer, most human targets last around 7 seconds.
SOE made Everquest once and after 4 years (a bit more) they still don't know :
- what DPS means
- what balancing means
- what fun means
But after 4 years of "enhancements" (very funny word when you are an EQ Necromancer) they AT LEAST learned what "High End Game" means by simply implement mobs that are 1000 times more powerfull than you. Of course, with raid power, they can be killed.
Do you remember the "answer" to Jaegen's post on the general discussion forum regarding DPS ? Those guys have absolutely NO CLUE of what is their game.
Btw, I'm happy I will be able to flee faster with a pathetic Dewback, I just hope it won't be bugged as hell and will delay REAL changes we need.
