I have been working on this level forever it seems, 70,000 is a lot. I think that maybe i am kililng the wrong creatures or using the wrong guns. i have d14 pistol thingy and i have been killing worts and gorggs and rills on tatooine. Progress is slow. Am i kililng the wrong things using the wrong weapons, or is it just a really time consuming level to get?

I would say you are...what server are you on?

I'm a pistoleer/Ranger on Wanderhome. Get a good FWG5 and/or ScoutBlaster, a case of powerups and go to Dantoine. Join a hunting party...go after big game. 800-1200xp per creature no problem.

I think you to low lvl to go to Dantooine as of yet, get a better gun like he said and stay on Tat. Go after game with the white * next to their HAM's. These creatures are on your lvl and will get ya up there pretty quick. Get yourself some armor too, something to take the sting out.

It took me maybe 8 hours total to get Pistol IV, and that was with a crappy DL-18 and a detour to Dathomir for cash.

I'm betting what is slowing you down is lack of medic skills. With basic medic skills and a pistol, you can blast till your H/A or low, stim, and blast again. You'll have close to 0 downtime when doing this, as the middling mind cost you use to pop a stim will regen in the time it takes you to burn thruogh your H/A action again. I can't recommend Medic enough to Pistoleers, the professions compliment eachother sooo well.

Also, I'm betting I had an advantage since I already had Suppression Fire.. that's a big help in killing things. Here's what I used to kill the avg Tat critter for 300-600 every15-20 seconds(e.g. womp rat, scyk) at Pistol III...

Aim; Bodyshot2; Aim; Bodyshot2; Aim; Suppression Fire; (run up to 11m from frozen critter) Bodyshot2 Bodyshot2 Bodyshot2 dead (etc..)

Basically I just ran around doing this to low level (not newbie mobs), e.g. womp rats, mutant womp rats, scyks, etc... anytime I got low on H/A, one stim put me back to full. Mobs rarely if ever hit me at all thanks to Suppression Fire, and with stims, I had 0 downtime for the most part, really speeding things up.

I'm betting my experience was a bit smoother than the average new pistol user tho, since I already had Ranged Combat I-IV and Medic Skills from my days as a Rifleman. Anyway, the above combo shoudl work well for you, tho you may have more downtime than I did. If you can afford it, by yourself a decentScout Blaster(you can get those at Pistol III) and use taht instead of the DL-18.
