Thread: If only we had a ranged knockdown...

It would make my decision about a final template so much easier. I was thinking about going up the dirty fighting tree for low blow and last ditch but I'm starting to spread my points thin in pistoleer. It would probably end up being 0 0 4 0 in smuggler and 0 4 0 4 in pistoleer. This would take my pistol accuracy to 85 which isn't too bad but it will only take my speed to in the mid 50's. Does low blow land and actually knockdown enough to justify going this route? Or would I be better off just going master pistoleer for the speed and rely on fan and stopping shot? The reason I'm running out of points is because I really want to keep Master CH just for the fun factor and possibilities of selling pets. Probably the only other skills I'd like to keep is First Aid in medic for the bleeds and warning shot (which seems too indespensible to let go)

Anyway..just ranting :/ If pistoleer had a decent knockdown then this wouldn't even be an issue.

I don't understand what your dilemma is. You're getting the best of both worlds. Nothing in the other two lines of Pistoleer is worth getting, and all four skills in the Smuggler line are pretty good. The last one, Last Ditch, is better than anything in Smuggler.

If you desperately need skill points, then drop Master CH and go 4/4/0/0 ... that gives you 90% of the benefits of being a CH. You won't be able to sell pets, but money is really easy to come by so that's not a big deal.

I've got Master Smuggler, going for Master Pistoleer, and 1/1/0/1 in CH. That combo will give you the ability to tame and train a GSP. So, not only will you have a pretty good meatshield, but you'll have your ranged KD from the DF line in Smuggler, PLUS your pistoleer specials and bonuses. Not a perfect combination, but one that I would think works very well.

When you're a smuggler you don't need a meat shield.
