Noob question.

Does anyone use rifle and pistol both? I mean rifle for mobs or people father away then switch to pistol when they close? Or is it not worth it?

However, the answer to your question is yes. There are people in my PA experimenting w/ that.

yes I do that. Im a ranger and started the game with rifle. While working through scout I switched to pistal as my primary weapon. I love it, and like being in the mix and now have a couple skills in pistoleer. For my playstyle it's great, running around, throwing traps etc. Also I group witha TKA a lot, and he tanks for me so it's great.

I have gone back to working on rifle again, after buying some new good rifles. Man I forgot what a different hunting style using a rifle is. I'm just getting the hang of it after a couple days. I'm almost ready for novice rifleman, and its' fun but different. I like it because it goes with my ranger thing being sneaky crawling around hunting from afar. The biggest advantage is, when the mobs run up on me before I can drop them with my rifle. Especially if it's because I missed like twice in a row. I'm in big trouble. So I stand up, toss a Adhesive Mesh, and pull out my pistal running around them.

It's a plausable play style, but very different combat styles. Also, remember the pistal specials are for health and rifle specials are for mind. So they dont compliment each other in that way.

I ve found that it's a great change out. Open with mind shot 1, follow with head shot 2, and if the mob is closing on you and not lieing in a crumpled pile of harvestable resources like a good little mob, then you whip out your pistol for a warning shot or two, then back to the rifle to finish them off. I can usually take yellows and low reds on lok with little trouble this way, but your hot key bank and knowing the critter is your biggest help using this method.
