Im having second thoughts about this profession. It seems like Im no closer to being able to kill solo the things I run into on a daily basis. Yet I read oe hear about Teras Kasi masters soloing dark jedi masters daily, or commandos clearing out the cave on dantooine full of dark force wielders, etc. Is there any master pistoleers out there that can tell me they can take on a Mokk or 2 without any problems ? Can you outlast a nightsister ? I started as a armorsmith but added pistoleer as my secondary as its necessary and doesnt require a heck of a lot of skill points in many other professions to do unlike BH. Im seriously thinking about switching to teras Kasi as I here of there exploits and wonder if a master pistoleer and master teras kasi met, would the pistoleer stand a chance ? Please tell me it gets much better up the skill ladder somebody. Im not interested in being able to shoot and run. I want to kill a dark jedi master someday solo. As of now, I have no chance in hell to do those dathomir imp. prison missions. I have 2 skills completed in pistoleer and dont want to waste anymore time if teras kasi is a better fighter.

i am getting rather close to master pistoleer and the way i see it the recent patch really kinda shut us down a bit. the knockdown timers hurt with pistol whip and the suppression fire timer...well it wasn't necessary considering suppression fire randomly worked.

now that rifle has cleaned up i am hearing better things coming from it. but unless you are a commando or bh you will really never get to solo anything on dangerous worlds. my stopping shot used to hit for about 1500+ before the patch....recently its been hitting for a lot less....around 800's....i am thinking someone snuck a change in on this.

Guys, don't despair.

The game is only 2months+ old. They nerfed pistoleer, yes, but the Devs will continually change other professions in time also. When people start complaing that BH and Commando are too uber in PvP, changes will be made. It will take some time, and constant pestering to the Devs' PM, but things will eventually be brought back to a more equal footing between all the fighting professions. Just give it some time. I knew I wanted to be a pistoleer back in BETA, and am almost there now. Yes, this latest round of nerfs is discouraging, but i know things will be more evened out in time. Enough Commandos complained and look what they did in 1 months time. Riflemen complained about the T21 and look where it is now. rebs will complain about AT-ST's and those look like they'll get nerfed too. What would really suck is that you give up your pistol skills now, only to find that when you're a TK Master, they nerf that profession. I've seen other threads that say to just send Private Messages to guys like Q3PO or Holocron, briefly explaining your veiws. Spamming them isn't the answer, but a brief, insightful message explaining your concerns and solutions may help. If enough pistoleers can do that just once a day, we may be able to push for some changes in our profession. Just stick with it and I think you will be all right.

Teras kasi masters soloing dark jedi? ahahaha you moron dont listen to those. its just people trying to make their class seem ultimate. Im a teras kasi master and theres no way in hell you can take on a dark jedi even in a group. Monsters target melee first, we have no more HAM than a pistoleer plus we cant wear armor.(we can we just kill ourselfs with the HAM costs) Dont know about commando, they have huge damage weapons but they are so range specific its annoying. TKM and a master pistoleer face to face? do you mean 1m? then TKM will waste you no doubt, TKM will waste any ranged profession within 3m its what they do. Now if you were 20-30m away thats a whole different story, it depends on how smart the TKM is.
