Hey there. I'm a pistoleer (0 3 4 2). I noticed yesterday using my DX2 that when I was 20m away from my target I had an attack modifier of -50. So I looked at my weapon, it says the ideal range is 8m, and it has a -27 modifier? I read this board alot and don't remember seeing a post like this. Can anyone confirm?'

Yup that's the way it's set,it has terrible range modifers. Of course no one will believe this outside the class since they think we pistoleers can hit anything 100% of the time from any distance

There was a lengthy thread on accuracy a couple weeks ago. The DX2 is far and away the worst pistol for ACCURACY in the pistoleer lineup. On the other hand, the most accurate pistols are the CDEF and the D18, so accuracy isn't everything...

Yup I miss all the time with my DX-2, no biggie to me. When you think of it the weapon does acid damage, you have to be kinda close or the acid beam sorta lags out. It cant hold its shape over distance and its arc drops making it inaccurate. This is just my imagination working to explain the misses. I stillmop up pleanty of thingswith this pistol at longer ranges than 50m as well. It's a fine weapon to have in your inventory for those armoured mobs.

I posted numerous times on this subject a few weeks back trying to drum up support to get it added to our correspondent list but no one realy seemed to care so I stopped trying. They just re-did the range on all the point blank commando weapons, if we could just get it thrown into the correspondent report it would probably get fixed.

don't be silly. Its much cooler to have twirly pistols than functioning weapons.

If you read any whiner post from anyone other than pistoleer you would see everyone complaining that range mods do nothing for pistoleers and we hit 100% of the time, yet anyone that has used a DX2 knows that the miss rate at 64m is insane.

BH get a style called Eye Shot, Pistoleers get a title called Dead-Eye. You figure out the rest.

The DX2 is "weird".

It doesn't have the classic broken / undefined accuracy mods that you see on some commando weapons or a Republic Blaser. Republic Blaster values show here as an example:

Point Blank: +0 at 0 meters
Ideal: -37 at 0 meters
Max: 0 at 64 meters

The ideal range being 0 meters and the max having a modifier of 0 is a common pattern seen in many weapons with messed up accuracies.

The DX2 on the other hand looks like this:

Point Blank: +20 at 0 meters
Ideal: -20 at 8 meters
Max: -90 at 64 meters

Here we have a weapon that seems to have a correctly defined modifier at max range, NOT 0, and a correctly defined ideal range, NOT 0, yet it still looks bugged because the ideal range is not the highest accuracy, and even worse, is negative. The other WEIRD thing I've noted is that it's the only weapon I've seen the Point Blank range accuracy modifier vary on. It is normal for the ideal range accuracy to vary based on quality of crafting and materials, presence or lack of advanced components, and whether or not a scope is added. But on a DX2, both the Ideal and the Point Blank move.
